Hey friends! After closing for two weeks to allow the island to breathe a bit after the storm, The Blue Palm has re-opened.

Some parts of the island are still recovering from Beryl, so when you do come visit, share extra smiles and kindness!

We look forward to hosting y'all soon!

Beaches on Follet's Island are closed. Please return once we have recovered! Looking forward to having y'all back soon! 😊⛱🌅🧜‍♀️

🚨 Beaches are Closed on Follett’s Island 🚨

Due to damage caused by Hurricane Beryl, Follett's Island (Surfside Beach, County Free Beach East of Surfside, Treasurer Island, San Luis Pass) is CLOSED. The Island is only accessible to business owners, homeowners, and renters. This measure ensures everyone's safety and allows for clean-up and repairs to take place.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to restore our beaches.

Hello friends! Wanted to share the news that The Blue Palm will be cancelling all reservations for the next two weeks to give the island time to heal.

All reservations will receive a full refund, even if you did not buy trip insurance. We believe in treating our guests the way we would want to be treated.

Keep the island in your prayers and please come back and see us soon when we are back on our feet!!!

Visual of the flow of rip tides! Stay safe, stay alert!

In this National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration image (not taken at the national seashore) harmless green dye shows a rip current. Rip currents are powerful, narrow channels of fast-moving water common along the East, Gulf, and West coasts of the U.S., and the shores of the Great Lakes. Moving at speeds of up to eight feet per second, rip currents can move faster than an Olympic swimmer.

Know how to break the grip of the rip! If caught in a rip current:

⚠️ Remain calm to conserve energy and think clearly.
⚠️ Don't fight the current. Swim out in a direction parallel to the shoreline. When you're out, swim towards the shore.
⚠️ If you cannot reach the shore, draw attention to yourself by waving your arms and yelling for help.
⚠️ If you see someone in trouble - get help.
