Today, on Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom, honor resilience, and recognize the contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation's history.

As we reflect on this important day, we invite our community to continue learning about the stories that have shaped Colorado and the American West.

"Black History in Colorado," an incredible lecture presented by Terri Gentry, an expert from History Colorado and a board member of the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center.

πŸ“… When: August 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM
πŸ“ Where: The Old Frisco Community Center

Terri will take us on a journey from the 1850s to the present day, shining a light on the profound contributions of Black Coloradans.

You’ll hear the vital stories of:
- Homesteaders & Cowboys who shaped the Western frontier
- Military Heroes who served with honor
- Medical & Business Professionals who built thriving communities

Everyday trailblazers whose legacies are woven into the very fabric of Colorado history.

True freedom thrives when we honor and remember every voice that built our home. Celebrate Juneteenth today, and join us in August to deepen your understanding of our shared local history!
