A huge thank you to Theo’s Village Apartments! We stayed at this family owned hotel for 6 1/2 weeks when we arrived on Crete and were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived! You will not find a lovelier family! 😍

Calling us taxis, giving us advice, making Stefan’s daily coffee, daily chats - they embody the Greek hospitality and I miss them already! Thank you for taking such good care of us. 🤗

Their apartment style hotel rooms are just what we needed for such a long stay… spacious, comfy beds, small kitchenettes, large bathrooms, and great terraces with each room. This was our area for breakfast, work, and killer sunset views! 🌅

Location was perfect for our extended stay… 5 minutes to the beach, 1 minute to mini market/bus stop, 2 miles to Old Town & tons of great restaurants nearby! We didn’t have a car and could walk everywhere.

Theos also has a fantastic pool area (I had a 4pm daily appointment there!) and a nice little bar/restaurant area. It’s truly a little home away from home & I highly recommend!

It’s actually a benefit to tender here… it’s a beautiful arrival from the water - with views of Old Town Chania and the surrounding mountains! (Larger ships dock in Sounda Bay - with a 20 ish minute transfer into Chania.)

The tender drops you directly in the harbour/Old Town - just steps from all the museums, Cretan food, and alleys to explore.

I’m celebrating the 20 year anniversary of Travel by Kris this month! First - an enormous THANK YOU! I owe being in business this long to your support and I’m truly grateful.

As my business enters its third decade - I’m so proud of the community and relationships I’ve built over these years. I always tell people I’m growing up with my clients and now I'm welcoming working with their kids and families.

I’ve been so lucky to reconnect with old friends through planning their trips, met people from all over the world, hosted seminars at sea, introduced my daughter to travel at a young age, and enjoyed the flexibility of working remotely.

I'm still as passionate as ever about travel and I'm looking forward to the next 20 years of planning your adventures! 🥰

Welcome to one of the best travel months! Summer or fall - take your pick.

4 places I recommend visiting in September and have tested myself! ✈️🚘

Hawaii 🌺
Low rainfall, the warmest ocean temp of the year, sunny days, and lower hotel rates than the peak summer season.

I’ve spent all of my adult life living in Colorado and September is hands down the prettiest.

Autumn comes early here… the aspens will be showing off, you’ll enjoy sunny days, crisp evenings, & a possible snowflake or two. A great time of year for hiking and to be outdoors! 🥾

Visit Greece to hold onto that summer feeling! ☀️

You’ll love the sunny days, warm sea, and less people than the crowds of August!

Grand Teton National Park - one of my best spur of the moment road trips in September.

Nice weather sticks around while the hordes of people from peak summer season don’t! The parking lots have space, the trails are less crowded, the leaves are changing color, and the wildlife is active the temps dropping from summer. 🐻

Working with multi generational groups is one of my favorite types of travel planning!

Cruises and all-inclusive resorts are both ideal choices. No one has to cook, make reservations, everyone has a bit of their own space… so many benefits for groups of all ages. 🤗
