Riga, Latvia 🇱🇻
The capital of Latvia, and its largest city, the old town of Riga is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. While exploring this medieval port town we discovered lots of wooden buildings mixed in with art nouveaux architecture. There were lots of museums, galleries, food stalls (like a farmers market), shops, and restaurants/cafes available with a little something for everyone!

This port is about an hour south of Stockholm, but we chose to explore this charming little seaside town. They served up some of the most incredibly fresh and tastiest seafood - especially the smoked salmon!🎣

Fun fact: Because the main body of the Baltic Sea is shallow, heavily trafficked, and has very low salinity, it acts as a difficult environment for larger marine life. Whales and sharks are rarely encountered. In fact, there are only a handful of shark species that even wander into the Baltic, and they’re considered harmless to humans!

Costa Rica #2
We’ve been traveling quite a bit after we left Tortuguero National Park and headed back to San Jose. We visited a coffee plantation on the way to San Jose, spent one night and then continued on to the town of La Fortuna. This town is located at the foothills of the Arenal Volcano. We went on another wildlife search on the river located on the border of Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Enjoy the photos!

Costa Rica anyone?
Traveling with Collette on The Tropical Costa Rica Adventure. We did the pre-extension into Tortuguero National Park. We arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica - had a lovely dinner, went to bed and got up very early to start our trek to the park. 3 1/2 hours of driving and almost 2 hours on a boat to get to this a beautiful and amazing place. We have been here 2 days exploring and seeing all kinds of wildlife! I have so many pictures, but I’m just gonna share a few here with you.
