Our Trail Town community of supporters just grew again!

Exciting News for Our Trail Town! 🥾🏛️✨

Please join us in giving a BIG Trail Welcome to the Warren Heritage Society—the latest organization to officially join the Community Supporter Program in backing the Front Royal-Warren County Appalachian Trail Community! 🎉

They join a growing network of over 20 passionate local businesses and organizations working together to:

🌟 Promote the AT as a vital economic engine for our local community.

🌿 Protect & Preserve our extraordinary natural landscapes through conservation.

🧹 Drive Local Stewardship by championing active trail volunteer efforts.

For nearly a century, 30 miles of the world-famous 2,197-mile Appalachian Trail have run right through Warren County. Generations of thru-hikers and day-hikers have stepped off the trail and into our town to rest, resupply, and experience our hospitality—and so many of them have fallen in love with the area and made Front Royal their forever home! 🏔️❤️

The lands this trail winds through hold deep historical roots stretching back long before the first explorers arrived in 1673. Partnering with the Warren Heritage Society bridges our rich regional history with our vibrant outdoor future!

If you have ever been on one of our treks, you have heard Goldilocks or Three Bellies say, “Take care of your gear and it will take care of you!”

Yesterday Rana gave the Lovebug a spa day, cleaning all her outer spaces, paying special attention to the solar panels and awning.

Today it was the water bladders for our Camelbaks…

Tomorrow??? hmmm.. I am sure something will need cleaning or repairing!

Awesome news for our local trail maintainers!

PATC is thrilled to announce a $90,000 Capacity Building Grant from the National Park Foundation (NPF) in support of Building for the Next Century: A Fundraising and Membership Staffing Transition for PATC’s Centennial Year.

As PATC approaches its 100th anniversary, this investment will help the club build the permanent fundraising and membership capacity needed to sustain our work for the century ahead. The grant will support a strategic initiative to further develop the club’s fundraising infrastructure, in turn strengthening donor cultivation, recurring giving, and member engagement programs.

With stronger fundraising capacity, PATC will be better positioned to invest more in volunteer training, safety certification, trail crew equipment, emergency storm response, and community driven programs that help keep NPS-managed trails open and accessible.

We’re grateful to the National Park Foundation, the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, and to our NPS partners for helping PATC prepare for another century of connecting people with the outdoors and caring for the trails and lands we all
treasure.
