Cast Away Cottage is located just outside of Galeton, PA in beautiful Potter County. The 2 bedroom, 1 and 1/2 bath home sleeps 7.
2023 Rates are $125 per night or $700 per week (6 nights) plus tax. We offer a 20% discount to Veterans/Military. We welcome families, hunters, anglers, ATV explorers, star-gazers...all who wish to relax and enjoy the beauty of Potter County and nearby. We offer a mud

room for your fishing and hunting gear. Visit Lyman Run State Park and Lake for hiking, fishing, kayaking and ATV riding. View the stars at Cherry Springs State Park - the only Dark Sky Park on the east coast. Fish the nearby streams and lakes, including Pine Creek. Take in colorful views of Pine Creek Gorge - well known as the PA Grand Canyon. Shop in downtown Galeton, Wellsboro or Coudersport. Take a ride on horse drawn covered wagon. And so much more!

Wanted to share this event for the Cast Away followers who are local to the Perry County area. Come check out all the great vendors and support local small businesses and organizations.
Plus Cast Away Cottage will be set up.
And I (Michele) planned and organized it, so hoping for a great turn out! Feel free to share.

The weather is looking good for this Saturday for the PA State Hunters Organization Summer Yard/Vendor Sale!
We have a couple spaces available.
We are located at 246 Meadow Grove Road, Newport.

It's getting there!

A fluffy fox passed through early this morning.

We are getting some much needed rain now. Yesterday Jim spent the day working on the construction of the ramp at the front of Cast Away. I'll post a pic or two of the progress later today.

The next guests arrive tomorrow. We hope they have a great week and see all the wildlife they are hoping for!

We've had a busy, busy summer and have welcomed many returning and new guests. Thank you for choosing Cast Away! We've still got some dates for the remainder of the year and would be happy to host you too!

Abi and I took a drive this evening and had a little bit of luck. We went out to Lyman Lake and caught a glimpse of a bear. Then we headed up to Cherry Springs and down East Fork Rd. About 4 miles down we saw the two bulls together. A few more miles down the road, another bull on his own. There's a video of the bulls together in the comments.
Ro, the bulls were about 16 miles from Cast Away and we saw them about 10 minutes after 8pm. Good luck this week!

I don't think we've caught a bobcat on camera before at Cast Away. Maybe this is Mama out looking for dinner to keep the baby we heard a few weekends ago fed.
