View the stars at Cherry Springs State Park - the only Dark Sky Park on the east coast. Fish the nearby streams and lakes, including Pine Creek. Take in colorful views of Pine Creek Gorge - well known as the PA Grand Canyon. Shop in downtown Galeton, Wellsboro or Coudersport. Take a ride on horse drawn covered wagon. And so much more!

Less than a half hour after the first bear, this bear came through. Breeding season is beginning which leads to increased activity and possibly why the first bear seemed so agitated.

Mr. Bear was quite camera shy this evening. In the first video you can hear him make a jaw popping sound which is a sign of fear or agitation.

Happy Wednesday!

Three critters passed through overnight - a raccoon, an opposum and a fox.

Mama and baby have been seen frequently. She is ever watchful and alert making sure her baby is safe. Baby is healthy and strong. She's doing a great job!

While drinking our coffee on the deck this morning, Jim spotted this little one. Baby made its way down toward the creek and settled into the foliage. It wasn't long until Mama came to retrieve baby. So sweet!

The chipmunk hung out on that rock for quite awhile with his back to us before Mama arrived. I think he was on babysitting duty.

A weekend at Cast Away with friends was just what we needed. Dirt road drives, dinner at The Waldheim, fishing at Lyman Lake and Beechwood Lake, camp fire sitting, a little bit of shopping, good conversation and lots of laughs...❤️❤️❤️

Matt and Jim did some fishing at Beechwood last evening while Shannon and I chatted and watched the wildlife.

It was a busy night and early morning at Cast Away Cottage - a doe, several bunnies, a raccoon, and a bear passed through.

A pretty doe came through mid-morning and paused for a few moments in the shade. I thought maybe she was waiting for a little one to join her, but not this time.

My kiddo and I are at Cast Away for a quick overnight to get ready for our next guests arriving tomorrow. We had enough time for a drive after I got the grass mowed and I am so glad we did.

Abi got some great photos, including one of a teeny-tiny new fawn, and helped a turtle cross the road. Check out the video in the comments, too. The peepers at the beaver pond created a deafening chorus.

We invite you to come take a drive in God's Country this summer. We saw all this in about an hour's time from a vehicle. Imagine what you can experience over a couple days of exploring!
