Trademark team member Laura Endress took our London & Paris: Tailor Made vacation and added something quite special.

Starting in London with a chance to see the Sunday Parade at Buckingham Palace and Westminster, then on to chic Paris to gaze at the Eiffel Tower's evening sparkle show. All fine and good, but her next stop was Chamonix, France to begin the 100+ mile Tour du Mont Blanc.

The hike took her across France, Italy & Switzerland, with panoramic views and glorious vistas with Mont Blanc Massif always looming in the background. Along the journey, she stayed at refuges (alpine huts for hikers) where she met hikers from all over the world over communal dinners. What a journey! We're so glad to have her on the team and can't wait to see where she goes next.

The Azores - About a 2.5-hour flight from Portugal, you'll find a beautiful archipelago in the North Atlantic. Mark Twain once said of the place: 'Nobody comes here, and nobody goes away.' It may be a little off the beaten path, but tourists have definitely discovered this lush, green gem.

We recently had travelers planning their third Trademark vacation asking us for suggestions, and when we talked about the Azores, they were game. Post-trip, their review was short, but sweet: "We had the.best.time."

It's hard to describe the Azores in words, so hopefully a few pictures will do.

It's Victory Day (or VE Day) today. In France, 8 mai 1945 is a national holiday commemorating the end of World War II in Europe. There are ceremonies of remembrance in cities and towns across the country. A special commemoration happens in Paris where the president of France presides over the ceremony of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier under the Arc de Triomphe, relighting the Flamme de la Nation.

When we get a chance to visit Normandy, we like to go to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial near Omaha Beach. There are still plenty wonderful historians and guides that will walk you through the history of D-Day and the many stories of sacrifice enshrined there.

If you've been on a Trademark vacation, then you probably already know Beth. But, did you know she's based in London? She loves visiting the National Trust, Heritage sites, and Historic Houses. She was out frolicking with the family in West Horsley Place in Surrey.
