Pubs Nā Grubs - Was with Taste of the Strand -Takes on Houston: Scouting a New Favorite Stop!
Ever wonder how a food tour decides which restaurants make the cut? Hereās a behind-the-scenes bite from my latest scouting adventureāthis time, Houston style.
Recently, Taste of the Strand was invited to check out a Houston restaurant as a potential stop for our tours. Naturally, I dove right in, sampling their flight of beers and, of course, their Reuben sandwich. Out of the beer flight, one brew was a standoutāsuperb, with the kind of flavor that makes you want to linger over every sip. The others? Letās just say Iāll be hunting for a better pairing, because when you find a Reuben this good, it deserves the perfect match.
And about that Reuben: Iām picky. Like with pizza, only a handful ever make my personal favorites list. This one? Itās up there. Acceptably stacked, tangy, and satisfyingāone of the best Iāve had off the island, and Iāve tasted plenty on Galvestonās āisland time.ā Iām genuinely impressed, and that doesnāt happen often.
This spot might just likey earn a place as a featured stop on our Houston tourāor at least as one of my go-to recommendations. If youāre a Reuben fan or a beer lover, keep your eyes peeled for this addition. Taste of the Strand is all about uncovering hidden gems and sharing them with youābecause the best food stories are meant to be.
