If you come to Bear Lake via Evanston, Wyoming you will want to read this post! Starting April 1st - October 31st, the 6th Street Overpass in Evanston will be closed.
If your vehicle, or boat is over 10 feet tall, you will need to detour on WYO 89 to Bear River Drive and then connect with I-80.
Vehicles under 10 feet tall can use other detours and the Front Street underpass.
THE CLOSURE OF THE 6TH ST. OVERPASS will be Monday April 1st. Please make sure to pre plan it will take more time to get around town.

6th Street Bridge will close for repairs
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), along with contract crews from Coldwater Group, Inc., will be closing access to the 6th Street overpass over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in Evanston for repairs from April 1, 2024 to Oct. 31, 2024.
Drivers connecting to Interstate 80 from WYO 89 are advised to detour around the bridge through the Bear River Drive underpass. High clearance vehicles are advised to detour east of the underpass onto Bear River Drive to access Interstate 80. Current height restrictions can be found at http://www.wyoroad.info/Highway/Restrictions.html.
A temporary signal will also be installed April 1 at the westbound Interstate 80 off ramp at mile marker 5 to help manage increased traffic due to detours.
On the road signing will notify drivers of the closure area and direct drivers to detour appropriately. The work is scheduled for completion Oct. 31 of this year. Work will include bridge rehabilitation, with repairs and improvements to railing, fence, expansion joints, bridge deck, approach slabs, barrier and lighting.
WYDOT would like to remind drivers to obey all roadside signs, traffic control devices and
closures.
