Step into the heart of history at Himeji Castle.

Shachihoko statue is an imaginary animal with the appearance of a fish, the head of a tiger, its tail fin always pointing to the sky, and multiple sharp thorns on its back. It has been cherished as a guardian deity, also with the meaning of a charm, because of the legend that it spits water from its mouth when a building catches fire to put out the fire, to prevent it from being burned down, which is the greatest fear in castle construction.
Deep within the castle, a Yokai monster resides. Osakabehime is a figure from Japanese folklore, adding a touch of mystery to the castle's history.
Enjoy the legend and history respectfully; we will keep this castle for the next generation and more.
