COME HUNGRY… EPCOT FOOD & WINE IS BACK! 😋🌎🍴

The 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is officially underway, and this is definitely one of those Disney events that has us looking at the menus and immediately planning what we’d eat first. 😂

Running now through November 21, Food & Wine is such a fun time to experience EPCOT — especially if, like us, trying Disney food is a pretty important part of the vacation!

One Carpenter family tip: Grab a Festival Passport when you get to EPCOT! 📖 We love having it to look through all the Global Marketplaces, figure out what sounds good, and keep track of what we want to try. Plus, it makes a fun little souvenir to bring home.

🏰⚜️ August 2026 Disney World — Our Home for the Week, or at least a night…

After hopping off the Mears bus, we had officially made it to our home for this Disney adventure — Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter! ⚜️💜💚💛

This was our first time staying at French Quarter, and we were excited to finally experience a resort we’ve heard so many great things about!

Our first stop was the front desk to see if maybe, just maybe, our room happened to be ready early. No luck quite yet…but they told us it shouldn’t be too much longer!

So what do you do when you’re at Disney with some time to kill?

You explore! 😂

Anna wasted absolutely no time making herself at home. She checked out the lobby, found a little Disney cartoon to watch, hit the playground, and then discovered the jazz-playing alligators. Naturally, she decided the band needed one more member. 🐊🥁😂

But there was still one very important mission…

🐊 We had to find Louis!

If there is one thing about Anna, it’s that she LOVES her some Princess and the Frog, so we knew finding Louis around the resort was a must. 💚

Walking around French Quarter for the first time, we were already loving the atmosphere — the New Orleans-inspired buildings, beautiful courtyards, landscaping, and all of those fun little Disney touches everywhere you looked.

Not a bad way to spend the time while we waited for that magical “Your room is ready!” notification. 📱✨

And before too long…it was time to see our room! 👀

✈️🏰 August 2026 Disney World — The Adventure Begins!

We’re finally getting around to sharing some of the memories from our August Walt Disney World trip, so what better place to start than the very beginning!

Our Disney adventure started with an early morning flight out of CLT on American Airlines. At this point, Anna is becoming quite the little flying pro. 😂 Although we may have accidentally taught her that airplanes only go to one place… because anytime she sees a plane in the sky, she assumes those people are headed to Disney World! ✈️➡️🏰

Once we were in the air, we had some beautiful views on the way to Orlando, but one in particular stopped me.

Looking down at the clouds, we could see the shadow of our airplane surrounded by this incredible rainbow halo. 🌈✈️

Of course, my mind immediately went to Dad. ❤️

Grief has a funny way of finding you in unexpected moments, and this was one of those times. Maybe it was just light, clouds and science doing something really cool—but for a few moments, high above the clouds on our way to a place that means so much to our family, it felt pretty special.

Then we landed at MCO and there was one very important piece of business to take care of…

After that, we headed downstairs, hopped aboard our Mears bus, grabbed a quick father-daughter selfie, and we were officially on our way to Walt Disney World!

The August Disney adventure had begun. 🏰✨

It’s been a little quiet around here lately, and before we start sharing again, we wanted to take a moment to simply say thank you. ❤️

The love, prayers, messages, and support you’ve shown our family over the past couple of months following the loss of Brad’s dad have meant more to us than we can put into words.

We know our communication and posting have slacked off, but one thing we’ve learned is that grief doesn’t follow a schedule. It can hit hard, and it can hit at the most unexpected times.

These past couple of months, we’ve been doing our best to navigate that grief, keep up with everyday life, continue taking care of our family and our clients, and also give ourselves permission to have moments where we could simply be together as a family.

Recently, we were able to spend some much-needed time at Walt Disney World with some of Brad’s family. It was a trip filled with memories, laughter, a few tears, and time together that we’re incredibly thankful we had. ❤️🏰

We’re looking forward to sharing some of those memories with you this week and slowly getting back to sharing more adventures, travel tips, and a little bit of that Disney magic around here again.

From our family to yours, thank you for giving us grace, checking in on us, supporting our business, and continuing to be here.

People ask why we go to Disney so much. We get it often actually. Well, for me, it’s a part of my home. My family spent many years going to Florida in February and we built so many memories on these trips. In recent years, I’ve been going to the parks with my family, and been blessed to have my parents and siblings join too with their families.

A piece of this home will feel a little sadder next time we go though. My Dad has transitioned into his next adventure. Brad’s Dad, Greg, unexpectedly passed away on June 11.

We will be unavailable until June 23 as we take time to grieve, be with family, and celebrate the memories of a magic maker.

We are going to miss you Dad! 💫

This past week, I had the opportunity to travel to California for work, and while I’ll be sharing more from the trip in the coming days and weeks, I wanted to start with what was easily one of the most impactful experiences of the journey.

🌲 Muir Woods.

I’ve visited a lot of places over the years, but there’s something special about standing among giant redwoods that have been growing for hundreds of years. I timed my visit for golden hour, and as the sunlight filtered through the trees, I found myself doing something I rarely do…

Nothing.

No phone. No talking. No rushing to the next thing.

Just listening.

The birds overhead, the wind moving through the trees, and the streams flowing through the forest created a peace that is difficult to describe. For most of my visit, I was completely quiet, simply taking in the magnitude of what surrounded me.

Moments like this remind me why I love to travel. Not just to see new places, but to experience them. To slow down. To reflect. To appreciate the incredible world God has created.

Some of these trees have stood here for more than 600 years. One of my favorite stops was the Bicentennial Tree, dedicated in 1976 for America’s 200th birthday. This particular tree began its life around the same time our nation began its own journey, making it especially meaningful to visit during America’s 250th year.

🇺🇸 How incredible is it that this tree has witnessed the entire story of our nation?

This is just the beginning of sharing this California adventure. More photos, stories, and a full vlog are coming soon, but I wanted to share a few images from an evening that left a lasting impression on me.
