Sometimes, taking in nature’s wonders comes with a bonus. Today, it was a 4.1 magnitude quake just 29 miles from our location.

Many individuals felt the ground or house shake in the Sevier County Area. We have received confirmation from th USGS that Sevier County and Neighboring Communities were impacted by a 4.1 Earthquake.

Sevier County has issued a burn ban effective March 13 which restricts the use of fire pits and charcoal grills within the county.

We’re asking current and future guests to stay aware of this risk and adhere to all instructions from Emergency Management personnel.

Update 3/13/25 12:30 PM COUNTY-WIDE BURN BAN ISSUED

Due to current dry conditions, exceptionally low relative humidity, forecasted high winds, and a Very High Fire Danger, Sevier County and the Cities of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Town of Pittman Center, and Sevierville have issued a BURN BAN until further notice.

Any outdoor burning is prohibited with this ban, which includes burning in barrels, outdoor wood-burning fire pits, and charcoal grills. Gas grills and gas fire pits are still permitted. This ban on open burning will be in effect until further notice.

HIGH Fire Danger: Public Advised to Refrain from Burning

Local authorities are encouraging residents and visitors to refrain from burning debris as the Tennessee Division of Forestry has issued a HIGH fire danger for the area.

The risk of a wildfire will continue to elevate until the area receives significant rainfall. Under these dry conditions, grasses and leaf litter are prone to ignition due to susceptible fuel loading, which can cause small fires to spread rapidly.
