Lee Board Commissioners now say that the new Fort Myers Beach pier will be done in August 2027, a year earlier than they originally thought.

These are renderings of what the longer and wider pier will look like. Construction will likely start in summer 2026.

The Sundial Beach Resort on Sanibel just reopened! That’s a huge deal for Sanibel Island as they continue recovering from Hurricane Ian. Fort Myers Beach has 50% of its hotel rooms back since Ian but Sanibel is only about half that. Hopefully this gives the island a boost.

The team at Smokin' Oyster Brewery (SOB), which reopened last week for the first time since Hurricane Ian at their Old San Carlos Boulevard location on Fort Myers Beach.

Bonita Bill’s will be closing its doors with last day of operations on Sunday, January 5th. We want to thank everyone who has visited us and supported us over the last 30+ years.

We will continue with regular operating hours; closed on Mondays. Tuesday-Friday 11am-9:30pm-ish (lunch/dinner only), and Saturday & Sunday from 8am to 9:30pm-ish. We will be open NYE (regular hours).

Our online store should be launched hopefully by the end of the year where you’ll be able to purchase tanks, tee’s, sweaters, hats, visors etc. Our printer will ship directly to you and merchandise will only be available for purchase through our online store - the link will be available on our website. Stay tuned more info. We will keep the online store running for a few months.

Our limited edition glassware is only for purchase at the bar. We’ve had requests if we can hold glasses or ship glasses, unfortunately we cannot accommodate but if you have anyone local in the area, we suggest having them come in and purchase on your behalf. Pint glasses are going fast!

We have a winner! Bruce Waugh from British Columbia, Canada just won the American Sand Sculpting Championship on Fort Myers Beach. His masterpiece was titled “Fish out of Water.”
