🗽 PLANNING TIP SUNDAY: NYC EDITION

Want to know one of the easiest ways to exhaust yourself in New York City?

Plan your itinerary from a giant list of attractions instead of looking at WHERE THEY ARE.

Times Square at 9:00.

Then downtown.

Then Central Park.

Then back downtown.

Then Broadway that evening.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS TO OURSELVES?! 😂

One of my biggest NYC planning tips is:

PLAN BY AREA.

If we’re going downtown, let’s look at what makes sense to do downtown that day.

If we’re spending time around Central Park, what else can we pair with it?

If you have Broadway that evening, let’s think about where you’ll be beforehand.

You’re still going to walk.

A LOT. 😂

It’s New York.

But a smart itinerary can save you from wasting so much time zigzagging back and forth across Manhattan.

And THAT’S the difference between having a list of things you want to see…

…and having an actual PLAN for seeing them. ❤️ That’s where I come in! I map it all out for you, down to directions on how to get from place to place.

Okay, Halloween lovers…

What if spooky season came with an OCEAN VIEW? 👀

Disney Cruise Line’s Halloween on the High Seas sailings combine two things I love:

✨ Disney magic
🎃 Halloween

And I think these sailings are such a fun option for families who want Halloween fun without building an entire theme-park vacation around it.

Think:

🎃 Characters getting into the spooky-season fun
🧡 Seasonal touches around the ship
👗 An excuse to pack a costume
🚢 PLUS all the regular fun of a Disney cruise

🚢✨ DISNEY CRUISE LINE JUST GAVE US A LOT TO TALK ABOUT! ✨🚢

New Disney Cruise Line itineraries are coming through May 2028 and there are a couple announcements that immediately caught my attention! 👀

🗽 DISNEY WISH IS HEADING TO NEW YORK!

You all know how much I love NYC, so Disney Cruise Line + New York definitely has my attention! 😍

The Disney Wish will sail from New York for a very limited run in September and October 2027 — only SEVEN sailings!

And having sailed on the Wish myself, I can tell you there is SO much to love about this ship. ❤️

⭐ DISNEY MAGIC RETURNS TO GALVESTON!

The Disney Magic will return to Galveston from November 2027 through March 2028, AND there’s an itinerary that visits BOTH Disney island destinations! 🏝️🏝️

🚢 Testimonial Tuesday 🚢

This one made me smile BIG!

One thing I will always tell my clients — ASK THE QUESTIONS! There is no such thing as too many questions when you’re spending your hard-earned money on a vacation, especially when you’re trying something completely new.

✈️ TRAVEL TIP MONDAY

Here’s a travel mistake that can actually COST you money…

Booking the cheaper hotel just because it’s cheaper.

I know that sounds backwards, but hear me out.

Let’s say Hotel A is $40–$50 less per night than Hotel B.

Sounds like an easy decision, right?

But Hotel A is farther away from everything you want to do.

Now you’re paying for:

🚕 Ubers or taxis
🚗 Parking
⛽ Gas
⏰ Extra travel time
😩 And possibly a whole lot more frustration

Meanwhile, the slightly more expensive hotel might let you WALK to restaurants and attractions or give you access to included transportation.

Suddenly that “more expensive” hotel doesn’t look so expensive.

This is especially something I look at when planning places like NYC, Chicago, and Europe.

I don’t just want to know what the room costs. I want to know what staying THERE is going to cost you.

Sometimes paying a little more for location is one of the smartest vacation decisions you can make.

Keep in mind too, I’m not saying most expensive is the best, I’m just saying look at the entire picture.

PLANNING TIP SUNDAY: DON'T START WITH YOUR PARK DAYS

Yep. I said it. 😂

When I’m planning a Disney vacation, I don't think the first question should automatically be:

**“Which park are we doing each day?”**

First, I want to know what matters MOST to your family.

🎢 Are rides the priority?
👑 Do you have must-meet characters?
🍽️ Are there restaurants you absolutely want?
😴 Do you need downtime built in?
🎆 Are nighttime shows important?
🏨 Do you want time to actually enjoy your resort?
🧒 How old are the kids—and what can they realistically handle?

THEN we start building the park days.

Because the “perfect Disney itinerary” you found online might be completely wrong for YOUR family.

That’s one of my favorite parts of what I do.

I’m not trying to plan the most impressive vacation on paper.

🎃 **HALLOWEEN TRAVEL BUCKET LIST: UNIVERSAL ORLANDO**

There’s visiting Universal Orlando…

…and then there’s visiting Universal during Halloween season. 🖤

Halloween Horror Nights completely changes the parks after dark.

👻 Elaborate haunted houses
😱 Scare zones
🍴 Special Halloween food & drinks
🎢 Rides in the dark
🎃 Incredible theming
🖤 And an atmosphere you simply don’t get during a normal park day

But here’s something I always want people to understand:

**HHN isn’t just “Universal decorated for Halloween.”**

It’s a separate event and it can be an entire vacation experience of its own—especially when you start looking at the different ticket options, Express Pass, daytime park tickets, resorts and how you want to structure your nights.

This is one of those trips where having a PLAN can make a huge difference.

Now I need to know…

😱 Are you walking straight into the SCARIEST haunted house…

🏃 Are you the person waiting outside holding everybody’s stuff? 😂

✈️ TRAVEL ADVISOR REAL LIFE THURSDAY

Okay… I have to start with THIS. 🥹❤️

My copy of Best of Kentucky came in, and actually holding the magazine and seeing my name in print as the #1 Travel Agent in Kentucky is pretty surreal.

I know I've shared the news before, but there's something about actually SEEING it in print. ❤️
