BIG NEWS for KST! 💗🖤💗

I am going to begin taking lessons again NEXT WEEK!!!!! I cannot wait to get back out into the community and coach softball girls again. I will be posting lesson times for next week hopefully tomorrow or Friday.

Now the BETTER NEWS…those lessons are going to help fund a need based scholarship program in our community! I have always wanted to help talented girls find a way, regardless of their financial situation. 100% of my lesson/camp income will be going towards the scholarship, but I am faithfully praying that some local businesses will get involved and come along side me with support.

As an individual you can help! Offering used equipment, Amazon gift cards (anything helps) or just monetary gifts towards the scholarship program would be incredible. Also, encouraging people to like my page so no one misses out on the info.

I want to thank Grace Christian for encouraging me to keep dreaming big and giving me the help I needed to SHIFT on this!

NO ONE can tell me this kid doesn’t have grit ❤️

My daughter had a TOUGH weekend at the plate, batting .000 for the entire tournmant. NOT ONE HIT in 4 games. As a coach, I see it as she tried slapping for the first time in a game and had some good hits foul, but as a parent…it was hard to watch her struggle.

She has basically been off for 3 months and the team she picked up with before that was not at the level she was used to. She is in 5th grade, so the way her team is split most of those girls are getting 4 middle school games A WEEK and she is barely getting a couple of hours in.

HOWEVER- when she cried and we talked about it. I told her she has to work harder. No excuse, complaint or comparison is going to change what happened. Only hard work and discipline will produce hits!

Tonight she asked me to work with her. After an hour I asked if we could go in and she said not yet. So we worked more 🙌🏼 Keep at it sweet girl 🥎

We are in need of equipment donations. if you have softball equipment taking up space, we would love to take them off our your hands! I would be happy to come pick anything up. Please contact me with any equipment, but mostly in need of the following:

▪️Bownet/Powernet
▪️11 or 12 inch softballs
▪️Tanner Tee
▪️Pitching Mat

We are always more than happy to take used gloves, helmets, face masks, bats, cleats, batting gloves to gift to the next generation of players!

We also would be so happy to receive monetary donations or gift cards to Amazon or Dicks Sporting Good!

I will support your love for the game as long as you want, but when you say you are done…I promise to listen and support you.

Parents. Stop pushing your kids into YOUR dreams. Stop piling on multiple lessons, practices, camps, tournaments every night of the week, year round. And this is coming from someone who gives lessons and has two girls who love the game🥎

If your child wants to work that much, go for it. Just remember they are a kid. Encourage them to read, join choir, play with friends, enjoy different activities. Take the vacations, visit family, encourage them to rest when they need it.

Pushing a child to participate in too much of the same thing increases the likelihood that the child will develop sports-related burnout. Rather than advancing in overall development, forced participation can inhibit the child from enjoying the activity, decrease a desire to succeed at it and increase the risk of injury. The child may begin to view sports negatively and lose interest in competing altogether.

Make sure it is their dream, not yours 🖤

Tomorrow I have a meeting that may change the future of KST for the better. Or it may open up a door that I didn’t even know God was saving for me. Either way, I hope to have a little more clarity on the path forward for my KST athletes and families!

People have been reaching out asking when I will start giving lessons again in Kentucky…The answer is SOON 😂

I am actually working on a project within KST that has been on my heart for a while. After I nail down the logistics of that (and get a handle on my kids THREE different softball teams between the two of them🫣)I hope to have some lessons to offer in the next couple of weeks.

Just a reminder that KST offers softball lessons in the following…

Hitting, Catching, BEGINNING pitching, agility and strength training. All with a focus on building confidence, resilience and mental toughness.
