Local businesses within the downtown areas of Georgetown - You are invited to participate in an event to help promote our July 4th Celebration. The primary purpose of this event is to encourage our downtown businesses to become a part of the July 4th celebration and promote July 4th throughout the community. We highly encourage all businesses to make the effort to take part and also to show your pride and patriotism.

The Theme: "Independence Day, The Scott County Way!"

Judging & Prizes: Judging will take place on Thursday, June 26th. Judging will be done by members of the community, NOT Scott County Kiwanis members. Winners will be announced the following day, on Friday June 27th. There will be a first, second and third place award given to winners. For this event, remember, all participants are winners! All businesses on Main Street, one block North and one block South of Main Street, then from Memorial Drive to Water Street are eligible to be judged.

Important: The windows are judged on the following criteria (1) The Overall Appearance, (2) Depiction of Parade Theme, (3) Originality and (4) Utilization of Patriotic Materials. The theme is open to interpretation. There is no wrong or right way to dress your window. Every business is encouraged to decorate as much as possible with props and material. Do as much decorating as possible to draw the attention of the public to your business.
