The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce was proud to celebrate with Waccamaw EOC, Inc. as they officially opened their newly restored Administrative Annex and brand-new playground on the historic campus of Georgetownโ€™s Howard School.

This $100,000 restoration project preserves an important piece of Georgetownโ€™s history while creating new opportunities for future generations. Congratulations to Waccamaw EOC on this remarkable achievement and investment in our communityโ€™s children and future.

Honored to take part today at the unveiling of a sculpture of Dr. Celeste Pringle, an icon of the Georgetown County School District who passed away in 2022. Held at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, the event featured a variety of speakers, including Dr. Bethany Giles, Steve Williams, state Sen. Ronnie Sabb, Dwight McInvaill, Dr. Randy Dozier, Dr. Carrie Brown, Lisa Renee Edwards, Mark Stevens, Ada Mazone, Marilyn Hemingway, and Ervin โ€œBlueprintโ€ Parker, who headed up the idea to have a sculpture created. Brookgreen Gardens helped with creating the sculpture.

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Leadership Georgetown County Class 33 on the successful completion of their class project supporting Georgetown County nurses and students through the renovation and stocking of the Nurseโ€™s Supply Closet at the Howard Adult Center.

School nurses shared their appreciation for this meaningful project, which will help meet the needs of students across Georgetown County. With more than 61,000 nurse visits already recorded this year, these resources are making a real difference.
