Kerri and David journeyed down from North Carolina to Georgetown for a wedding and while here, saw and learned some of our history.
Old Georgetown Walking Tours introduced them to Lafayette, Theodosia, Dr. Fyffe and several of our other notabable visitors and residents.
They had spent some time at Hopsewee and were familiar with Thomas Lynch when we visited the Winyah Indigo Society Hall.

Georgetown South Carolina has been a busy place this weekend with the annual plantation tours, destination weddings and many visitors.
Old Georgetown Walking Tours capitalized on our charm Friday with a Following The Footsteps of Francis Marion tour and an old Georgetown tour.
Saturday morning found us at The George Hotel providing a brief introduction of local history with some of their guests.
The annual plantation tours drew a huge crowd and we were honored to be one of the docents at the Francis Withers house on Prince Street where we saw many old friends and met a lot of newcomers to our area.

Andy and Susan from North Carolina are staying at The George for a few days and had Old Georgetown Walking Tours share a brief history of Georgetown South Carolina with them Thursday afternoon.
They had already visited The Rice Museum and will visit Hopsewee on Friday.
They are learning that Georgetown is addictive and will need to return for another fix.
We thanked them for visiting and guess what?

Some of Friday’s guests in Georgetown were from New Jersey, Kentucky, and Ohio. We were happy they chose Old Georgetown Walking Tours to show off what makes us one of South Carolina’s top destination cities.

Ohio visitors today were Dora and William and Old Georgetown Walking Tours was chosen to be their host.
William is a seventh generation general store owner and they live in an 1870 home.
They had traveled through our state before and this was their first time visiting Georgetown South Carolina.
They found some of our favorite restaurants and are off tomorrow to visit the Pawleys Island area.
We thanked them for visiting and wished them safe travels back home.

Friday’s weather was great and we were honored to introduce some locals and visitors to Georgetown South Carolina.
Dick, Sue, Carol and Bob took our Following the Footsteps of Francis Marion tour and learned about the “Swamp Fox’s” association with Georgetown before, during and after the American Revolutionary War.
Todd, Ann Marie, Marvin, Linda, Marvin and Roy took our Old Georgetown Walking Tours and loved the stories, the Champion Oak along with our various architecture and 300 years of history.
Everyone left with a greater sense of appreciation for this wonderful place we’re blessed to live.
We’re on the corner of History and Heritage.

Tom, Doug, Maggie, Karen, Jerry and Jena were guests today with Old Georgetown Walking Tours and enjoying seeing and learning some of what makes Georgetown South Carolina the special place it is. Jerry and Jena have lived here for several years and Maggie and her group performed Wednesday night at Hopsewee Plantation.

Asheville natives Glenn and Patty are visiting the Lowcountry during the Thanksgiving holiday and took our Following the Footsteps of Francis Marion Walking Tour Wednesday afternoon.
They were amazed with Georgetown’s association with Francis Marion and loved the new mural of Francis and Oscar.
We wished them the best for Thanksgiving and safe travels back to Asheville.
