Welcome to Gering, Oregon Trail travelers! 🥾🐂☀️

The welcome bags are packed and ready! We’re excited to welcome a bus tour group to Gering as they follow the historic Oregon Trail through western Nebraska and into Wyoming.

Their time with us will include some of the places and experiences that make our area so special — Scotts Bluff National Monument, a tour and Chuckwagon Dinner at Legacy of the Plains Museum, Chimney Rock, and a catered meal from The Mixing Bowl Cafe at the Five Rocks Pavilion.

And, of course, we want them to feel welcome from the moment they check into their Gering hotel, so each guest will find a little Gering welcome bag waiting for them! 💙

There’s something pretty special about sharing the stories, landscapes and hospitality of western Nebraska with visitors who have come to experience the Oregon Trail for themselves.

This year’s Visit Nebraska Agritourism and Adventure Travel Workshop will take place October 19–21 in the Scottsbluff and Gering area.

Visit Scottsbluff and Visit Gering have been working with Visit Nebraska to put together three days of site visits, networking, and conversations focused on agritourism, outdoor recreation, and adventure travel in Nebraska.

We’ll be visiting a great mix of businesses, attractions, and outdoor recreation destinations throughout the Panhandle and hearing directly from the people behind them.
