Friday morning, I met up with Dinah at JoJo’s Espresso here in Germantown for a chai, a scone, and a little post-trip catch-up. ❤️ Her recent Viking cruise definitely had a rough start, but thankfully, the trip turned into a wonderful experience overall!

**THIS is why you book with a travel advisor.** ✈️🌎

One of the advisors with our agency just spent TWO DAYS helping a client get to her Mediterranean cruise after her travel plans completely unraveled.

And here's the crazy part: **The advisor didn't even book her airfare.**

The client had booked her own flights from San Diego to Italy. When her original flight was canceled, what followed was an absolute mess — multiple rebookings, a connection she was told she was confirmed on but wasn't, two red-eyes, an unexpected trip through JFK, a missed connection in Paris, and finally a last-minute flight into Bologna on embarkation day.

By the time she landed in Italy, she had about **90 minutes to get from Bologna to the cruise port in Ravenna.** 😳

While the client was flying across the Atlantic, her travel advisor was working behind the scenes.

She stayed up all night.
She repeatedly contacted the cruise line with updates.
She got the client's boarding time extended.
She arranged a private Blacklane chauffeur to be waiting when she landed in Bologna.

And today, at **3:33 PM in Ravenna**, we got the message we'd been waiting for:

**SHE MADE IT ON THE SHIP.** 🎉🙌🏻🛳️

The advisor didn't get paid extra for any of this. She didn't earn commission on those flights. Frankly, she could have told the client to contact the airline and figure it out herself. But that's not how we take care of our clients.

There are plenty of places where you can *buy* a vacation. What you're getting when you work with a concierge travel advisor is a real person in your corner when the carefully planned vacation suddenly doesn't go according to plan.
