Why should you use a travel agent?
1. Supporting a small business owner. You help someone feed their family vs paying for the housekeeping staff of a CEO.
2. Customer service. An agent has a vested interest in making sure you have a great vacation. Oftentimes we give our personal cell number. You speak to one person who knows you and your needs vs waiting on hold for the next available agent.
3. Most of the time you are paying the same price. When you book online yourself, you just increase the bottom line of said company bc they then don't forward a portion to an agent of record.
4. Yes, sometimes we DO have better deals. Because we have relationships with the hotels/cruiseline, we can get you amenities and upgrades that wouldn't be available if you book yorself.
5. Yes, we DO offer payment plans. Sometimes as low as $25pp.
6. If a hotel overlooks, they will bump reservations made online before they will bump one made by an agent.
7. We can make recommendations based off of personal experience bc we have seen the properties ourselves (of course not every place you could imagine.) And if we haven't, we have a network of colleagues to draw information from.
8. When you experience a travel emergency, we begin the legwork to filing claims and follow through until you receive your reimbursement.
9. Also with travel emergencies, we handle making alternate arrangements- snow storms, delayed, cancelled flights, etc.
