Home from 32 days away, and we ended the trip in Ireland. 🇮🇪

Of course, I had to visit the Guinness Storehouse while we were in Dublin. 🍻

Yes, it’s touristy, but worth it! You get the history, the story behind Guinness, the process, and you end at the Gravity Bar with one of the best views over Dublin.

A few quick tips:

🌆 Don’t skip the Gravity Bar
🇮🇪 If you’re like me and not a beer drinker, go anyway! It was a very cool experience.

Port Stop today 🚢 Funchal, Madeira, Portugal

🌴 Madeira is nicknamed the “Island of Eternal Spring” because the climate keeps everything so green and blooming almost year-round.

🌸 Today was one of the Flower Festival parade days, so the city was getting ready with flowers, decorations, music, and parade prep everywhere.

The warm rainy mist tried to steal the spotlight, but Funchal still looked beautiful. ☔🌺

🌿 The island has ancient laurel forests that are so special they’re protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

🍷 Madeira wine is one of the island’s most famous exports. It’s a fortified wine that became popular during the Age of Exploration because it could survive long sea voyages without spoiling.

We are half way through our transatlantic cruise on Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady already! 🚢 We had our first port stop yesterday at Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Beautiful island, friendly people, and such a gorgeous day! ☀️

🌋 The Azores are volcanic islands with gives São Miguel it’s crater lakes, hot springs, black sand, and all that crazy-green scenery.

⛪ The black-and-white churches and streets in Ponta Delgada get their signature look from dark volcanic basalt stone paired with whitewashed walls.

🍍 São Miguel is famous for Azorean pineapples, and they’re grown in greenhouses instead of tropical fields.

🐳 The Azores are a major whale and dolphin watching destination because so many species pass through the islands’ waters.

🇵🇹 The Azores may feel super remote, but they’re officially part of Portugal. Portuguese explorers settled the islands in the 1400s, and today the Azores are an autonomous region of Portugal. They have their own local government but are still Portuguese.

Pretty cool to be standing in the middle of the Atlantic but technically in Europe. 🌊⛪

REAL ID enforcement for domestic flights is already live. If your driver’s license is not REAL ID compliant, bring a passport or another TSA accepted ID.

🚨 Starting Feb 1, 2026, if you show up without acceptable ID, it will cost you $45 per person, plus extra time at security.

If you travel even once a year, a Passport is a solid gift to yourself and the family! 🎁 ✈️
