There's a lot to do this weekend in Gig Harbor! Tonight, Indigo Jazz plays at Uptown Gig Harbor, Friday night's Movie in the Park is a classic - Ferris Bueller's Day Off at Sehmel Homestead Park; on Saturday, Bike Gig Harbor ! leads a Cushman Trail ride across the Narrows Bridge; PenMet Parks hosts a DIY Heritage Garden Tour at Sehmel Homestead Park, and Key Pen Parks hosts a 360 Trail clean-up as part of Pierce County Trails Day, and on Sunday, 7 Seas Brewing Co. hosts Ethereal Arts Northwest for "Circus by the Sea" from 3p-5p!

There's a plethora of ways to spend a family-friendly summer afternoon in downtown Gig Harbor, from the very cool touch tanks and environmental education at Harbor WildWatch to the Harbor History Museum's Midway Schoolhouse, where the museum brings back "Miss Bennett" this August 5th - the circa 1915 schoolhouse turns into an interactive theatre experience for the afternoon, where kids can take a turn-of-the-century schoolhouse lesson. A fun way to bring history to life for little ones, we also recommend a walk through the museum for all ages.

On your walk through downtown, stop to rent a kayak from Lee's SUP, or drop in at the Skansie Brothers Park splash pad, and end with a cone at Iscreamery_Gig Harbor for a well-rounded family adventure day!

Mark your calendars and join us at the museum on August 5th from 11am - 3pm for Family Fun Day! We'll have heritage crafts, fun crafts, story time, Shenandoah tours, lessons in our 1893 schoolhouse with Miss Bennet, and hands-on artifact examination. Members are free, non-members are $5 per child.
