09/09/2026
Due to high winds I had to cancel my last two scheduled charters on the season which concludes my 2026 salmon season here in Gills Rock!
I’d like to thank everyone that came out this year and fished with me it was amazing to be able to meet people from all walks of life and share my passion of fishing with them.
One thing that stuck out to me was the gracious welcome Northern Door County gave to me coming in for my first year. All the local businesses and individuals were so supportive of me and getting the word out about my charters. It is such a great community and I encourage everyone to come visit and spend some time up here on the north shore of Door County!
I was fortunate to meet a great group of guys at the dock throughout the season. I had a ton of fun fishing with them and look forward to getting back together with them next season. I learned a lot and made some great friends. Gotta give a shoutout to Steve at Top 40 up in Escanaba. He was very helpful in helping me learn the charter business. Give him a shout if you want to charter in the UP of Michigan!
Top 40 Charters
I plan to return to Gills Rock for the 2027 season and will begin chartering in May for smallmouth bass. My first years fishing I started with bass, so it will be good to get back to my roots. I will be utilizing my 17’ bass tracker at home to run the bass charters.
I will start salmon charters in early to mid June next year. There is a lot of young fish out there and it looks to be a promising future! Reach out if you’d like to get a date set! July is the best month.
I will be heading back home to the Upper Peninsula and getting ready for deer season, fall walleyes, duck hunting, and maybe some salmon fishing in the rivers.
Until then, everyone enjoy the fall and winter. Salmon season will be coming again soon!
Tight lines,
Captain Brandon Cooper
