Here we go! Winter has arrived.

Snow has begun to collect along the shoulders of the Glenn Highway through Tahneta Pass, marking the first accumulating snow in Southcentral Alaska this fall. Images from AK DOT show accumulating snow near Gunsight Mountain (milepost 117) and falling snow with no accumulation yet near milepost 106. Snow is likely to continue in the area at least through the early afternoon before tapering off.

We expect a hard freeze tonight, so the cottages have been winterized, flower beds have been cleaned, and patio furniture has been stored until spring.
It looks so bare!

Dear Mother Nature,
Please don’t snow tonight. Pretty please, I beg of you! Please wait until our closing weekend is over so our last guests can enjoy the glorious gladiolus that are blooming on the patio!
You kind of owe it to us … you have rained all stinkin summer 😞

This mama moose and lil one are messing with my cabin cleaning duties today! They are blocking my cleaning supply closet and I am waiting for them to move along so I can access it. Guess I will take a break, put my feet up and enjoy the view.

I just love these little red gems scattered throughout the property! Sure does make it hard to get the cottage cleaning done when I just want to stand by a bush and snack!
