Chris Nordling's Fishing Guide Service Now booking - Fall Chinook (Sep-Dec), Winter Steelhead (January-April), Spring Chinook (April-July). Catch and release sturgeon anytime!

My business began in 2002, and since then I have been a full time professional fishing guide targeting salmon and steelhead on premiere NW Oregon rivers and bays. Fishing is my only job, and I can honestly say I love going to work !

--Starting in 2008 I have been working with Tomans King Camp on the Nushagak River in SW Alaska. From the middle of June through July 10th we are fishing one of the

best returns of King Salmon (Chinook) on the planet.To hook between 50 and 100 salmon a day is not out of the question! This is a "bucket list" trip for any serious salmon angler. Check out Tomansoutdoor.com for more info on this fabulous experience.

--Several times a year I present fishing clinics and seminars throughout the region helping anglers improve their skills.In the past I have enjoyed giving seminars for Fisherman's Marine, The Oregon Fishing Club, CCA, and ANWS .

--Recently I was a finalist for a co host position for a live television call in show based on fishing and hunting in the NW .During the process I enjoyed 2 different live television appearances and several guest spots in a variety of commercials that aired over a 2 week period. The show is called Outdoor GPS and is on Comcast cable several times a week. While I did not "win" the position of co-host, it opened my eyes to several other possibilities outside the guiding industry.,

Getting ready to add my 25th set of guide stickers to each member of the fleet. Together let's make 2026 an amazing year on the water chasing the salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon that call the waters of the PNW home.

Winter steelhead is right around the corner. Who is ready for some hands on fishing with light tackle? Trips are local to Portland area or at the coast. Drift boat, sled, or raft options available.

If we ever discussed a drift trip for fall Chinook or Chum, now is the time to reach out and get on my calendar. The window to float with me will be very limited, some dates are already booked, others blocked out for deer hunting. But, based on the long range forecast, we are in for some heavy rains, and it's about to get crazy good. I'm thinking it should be one of those years where it's reasonable to catch them until it closes 11/30.

Why dont you call me to ? We could have filled the two open seats and stacked 'em up good today. There's always next time, although today had perfect coast weather. Just wow!!!

Thanks Curt Nelson and Matthew for a great day. Fun to catch up after all these years. Let's do it again!

It can't be over yet! Let's make another trip on the Columbia, before the fall really gets here. I'm hoping to book a few dates later this week, over the weekend, and into next week, including this Friday and Saturday for crab 🦀 and coho combo trips from Hammond .

The tides look perfect and the weather looks decent. Who's in?

When I asked for pictures of today's fish and crab, this is what I was sent. Some people's kids, LOL. You'll just have to believe me when I say it was a good day to harvest both coho and crabs....

The Columbia is now open for four more days for Chinook retention. Starting tomorrow, but I don't like the wind forecast for Astoria, so probably won't go tomorrow.

But I will have open boats Friday Saturday and Sunday. Let's take advantage of these tides and the opportunity retain Chinook. If we choose to crab, the window is small to pick the pots, but we can probably make it happen.

Call/text/msg on FB for info or to set up your trip. Today was the first day that we didn't land a Chinook, but that doesn't mean they're not here. Plus the coho fishing is pretty good. Let's get it on!

Hoping to fill 2 or three seats for tomorrow. Coho fishing and crabbing.in Astoria .Both of which have been very productive the last several days.. It could possibly be a later start like 7:30 or 8:00.
