As a scrapbooker, I know that a page packed edge-to-edge looks chaotic. The empty space is what makes the memories stand out.

Itineraries work exactly the same way.

When every day is scheduled — 9 AM museum, noon lunch, 2 PM walking tour, 5 PM cooking class, 8 PM dinner — the experiences blur together. There's no room for the unexpected, no time to actually feel like you're on vacation.

White space is where the trip becomes yours:
→ The morning you wander into a market you didn't know existed
→ The afternoon that turns into a three-hour lunch because the conversation is too good to end
→ The unplanned nap that recharges everyone for an unforgettable evening
→ The kid-led detour that ends up being the story of the trip

Rest creates room for natural discovery. Discovery is what people actually remember.

The more people in the party, the more important the unscripted time becomes — for individual energy levels, for one-on-one moments, for the small breaks that prevent the big tensions.
