Just a day late, since we've been out FISHING on the Lady Sea!

Here's the weekend re-cap fishing report from Captain Mike! It's been busy out there!

Friday's all day made for some really good haddock fishing. We had to w**d through some shorts, but the numbers added up well by the end of the day, with a bunch of redfish mixed in. Only a handful of dogs all day.

Saturday's marathon was the polar opposite of Friday. The weather was beautiful, but the haddock deserted the area for the most part. We managed to pick a few, and got a lot of redfish for the coolers. We also sacrificed some tackle fishing on hard bottom, but it was well worth it: We landed a lot of beautiful cusk. Sometimes, when the haddock don't cooperate, we have to target other species. It worked out well Sat, with everyone going home with plenty of fish.

Sunday's 3/4 day trip started off slow, but ended well. On our last stop, we spent an hour catching a bunch of nice haddock and redfish, with some codfish mixed in. The cod were safely released.

Sunday's afternoon half day was a decent one, although a little unconventional. We caught a few haddock and a whole lot of hake. We had a huge school of mackerel under the boat. Most of the customers on the boat voiced there want to catch mackerel, so we set people up with mackerel jigs and loaded the boat. Normally we would continue looking for bottom fish, but we also aim to please our customers. Not the norm, but a successful trip.

Once again, we've reached the end of our fishing season. 2024 started off a little slow for us on the bookings front, but gained momentum, and finished with a bang. As always, we want to thank all of our customers, both regulars and new. Without you, our business wouldn't exist. We always strive to provide the best experience and customer service we can, and hope that we did just that.

Fishing this season was very steady, no days being too bad, and some days being exceptional. The haddock numbers were good throughout the summer, with great mixes of cusk, redfish and Po***ck. The fall codfish catch was good this year, with most trips in September and October seeing plenty of cod between 5 and 15 lbs.

We also had another great year of working with the US Navy on the couple of occasions. Working with members of our country's Navy is always a highlight of our season.

We're already hard at work making repairs and improvements on the Lady Sea for next season. In the meantime, we would like to wish everyone a great holiday season and a mild winter. We look forward to seeing everyone again in April.

Last but not least, we want to thank our crew. Our crew are our face and our voice to our customers. Our operation is only as good as them, and they continue to be exceptional.
