Shawnee Pines is in full bloom! The gray days and rain may have dampened some plans for our guests but our flowers thoroughly enjoyed all of it! Now that the sun is back, we invite you to visit us, walk our wooded trails, unwind by the pond, and chill in the hammock to kick off Summer 2025!

Garden of the Gods is open for Labor Day weekend!

With Labor Day weekend approaching, the Shawnee National Forest wants to remind visitors that the Garden of the Gods Recreation Area is OPEN. Remember to recreate responsibly and plan ahead. The recent dry weather and warm temps poses a significant risk for fires, please be especially careful with any outdoor burning.

We always enjoy hosting the annual Community Support Systems-Integration Services camping trip to Southern Illinois. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to spend a few days with this amazing group!
