A man of the river, mountains, and beyond, Steve DiCicco.

Jerry’s would like to ‘band-wagon’ on this salute to a great man. Thank you for being a steady partner to all public land adventurers.

Meet Steve DiCicco, Field Ranger for the U.S. Forest Service- Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest's Gold Beach Ranger District. Steve has been in his position since 2016, roughing it through both the Chetco Bar (2017) and Klondike (2018), and has become a crucial partner.

DiCicco is not driven by a pay check or a pension, and he sacrifices his time to make sure our operations are successful. He's driven by a passion for public lands. Maybe you've used the facilities at Foster Bar. Perhaps you've visited Snowcamp Lookout, or used a bear fence on the Wild Rogue. And if you're lucky, maybe you've seen him floating the Rogue, cleaning sites, caring for the land.

His boots are on the ground, he never lets off the gas, and he's a field partner we can count on. Thanks for your support, friends, and long live the backwoods trails.

🌊 Oregon’s coastal tides are no joke—and they’re a spectacle worth stopping for. This morning’s -2.62 ft low tide exposed just how dramatic the Rogue River estuary can be. An 8–10 foot swing in water level isn’t uncommon, and that moss line on the pilings tells the story of the river’s average height.

Mother Nature doesn’t need special effects. She’s been putting on the greatest show for centuries. Sometimes the adventure begins before the boat even leaves the dock. ⚓🌊
