If you’ve ever dreamed about Sicily, this is the kind of trip I want you to picture… 🇮🇹☀️

One day we’re wandering through Taormina, the next we’re hiking the volcanic landscape of Mount Etna. We’ll learn family recipes in a small village, taste wines grown in volcanic soil, get out on the water and jump into that ridiculously blue Mediterranean Sea.

But we’re not going to Sicily just to check things off a list.

There will be time for long meals, afternoons by the pool, wandering on your own and simply enjoying the fact that you’re in Sicily.

That balance is really important to me when I create a Sunny & Turquoise trip. I want us to have adventures, try new things and see incredible places — but I also want you to come home feeling like you actually experienced where you were.

And you absolutely do not need to know anyone before you come. So many of our women arrive solo and leave with new friendships and a whole lot of shared stories.

"I can plan the places, the activities, the meals and all the little details… but I can’t plan the part that ends up meaning the most. The women. 🧡

And this trip was such a beautiful reminder of that.

Just two weeks before joining us, one incredible woman in our group had finished treatment for breast cancer. And then she showed up.

She hiked. She explored. She tried new things. She laughed. She soaked it ALL in. And without even trying, she reminded every one of us how precious it is to be here — and to keep saying YES to life. 🤍

We wandered Ljubljana, hiked Vintgar Gorge, rode e-bikes through Slovenia, searched for truffles in Istria, slowed down when we needed to, and ended our adventure together by the Adriatic in Rovinj.

But when I think about this trip, those aren’t the things I’ll remember most.

I’ll remember the women who showed up for themselves and for each other. The conversations. The laughter. The encouragement. The new friendships. And watching women realize they’re capable of more than they sometimes give themselves credit for.

That is Sunny & Turquoise.

Come as you are. Try something new. Find your people. And go home with a few more stories — and maybe a little more belief in yourself — than you came with. ☀️

One of the things I love most about having a small travel business is that it stays personal. 🧡

I know the women who travel with me. You can text me with a question, send me your flight before you book it, ask if a trip is really right for you or tell me what you’re nervous about.

And I want that same personal connection with the people I work with around the world.

I want to know the guides who are taking us hiking. The hotel owners welcoming us in. The drivers picking us up. The restaurants feeding us. The local people and small businesses helping me create these experiences.

Because when you travel with me, I’m trusting them with you — and that matters to me.

A great trip is so much more than a beautiful itinerary. It’s a whole lot of real people, behind the scenes and right there with us, who genuinely care about making it special.

That’s the kind of business I want Sunny & Turquoise to always be. Personal. Thoughtful. And full of heart. ☀️"

I’ve had so many moments in my life where I almost talked myself out of something.

A trip. A big change. A new experience. Something that sounded exciting… but also made me a little nervous because I had no idea how it would turn out.

And funny enough, some of those decisions have become the ones I’m most grateful I made.

I think that’s one of the reasons I love travel so much.

You can plan the flights, the hotels and where you’re going — but you can’t plan the woman you’ll sit next to at dinner and end up laughing with all night. You can’t plan the confidence that comes from trying something you weren’t sure you could do. And you definitely can’t plan those little moments that somehow become the stories you tell for years.

Sometimes you just have to say YES and see what happens. ✨

I get messages like this after trips sometimes, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop getting a little emotional when I read them.

Because THIS is why I love what I do.

It’s not just about planning a beautiful trip. It’s knowing that someone came home happy, proud of herself, full of stories, maybe a little more confident…and already missing the adventure.

Travel has such a way of reminding us what we’re capable of. It gets us out of our routines, asks us to try something new, and sometimes sends us home just a little different than when we left.

Getting to play even a small part in that for another woman is pretty dang special.

There are some places that make you stop and think… I cannot believe I’m actually here. 🇮🇹⛰️

But what makes a place like this even better? The women standing beside you.

In September 2027, we’re heading into the Italian Dolomites for a week of big views, beautiful hikes, e-biking through Europe’s largest high-altitude alpine meadow, incredible food, mountain villages, and plenty of moments that push us just outside our comfort zones.

And somewhere between the trails, the shared meals, the laughter, and cheering each other on, something else happens.

Strangers become friends. Women remind other women what they’re capable of. And you go home with so much more than photos.

You don’t have to be the fastest.
You don’t have to be the most adventurous.
You don’t have to know anyone before you come.

Just show up as you are.

Have you ever been on a trip and thought…

“I can’t believe I almost didn’t do this.”

Maybe the timing wasn’t perfect. Work was busy. You didn’t have anyone to go with. Or staying home just felt easier.

But you said yes anyway.

And then there you were — somewhere new, laughing with people you may not have even known a few days before, having experiences you never could have planned from home.

I think some of our very best memories start with a decision we almost talked ourselves out of.

And I’ve watched that happen over and over again on Sunny & Turquoise trips.

I spent 30 years in the restaurant business.

It was what I knew. It was comfortable. It was a huge part of who I was.

And then I sold my restaurant and walked away without really knowing what was next.

There was no big master plan. No perfectly mapped-out second chapter. I just knew I was ready for something different.

Looking back, I think sometimes we stay where we are because we know how to be that version of ourselves. Stepping into something unknown can feel a whole lot scarier.

But not knowing what was next gave me the space to figure it out along the way.

And I’m so grateful I did.

Because the life I have now — the women I’ve met, the places I’ve traveled, this Sunny & Turquoise community and the person I’ve become along the way — wasn’t something I could have planned back then.

Sometimes courage isn’t having the whole plan.

Sometimes it’s simply trusting yourself enough to take the first step. 🩵
