What a great at the Denver M Club’s Oredigger Craft Night at Mad Mack’s! Turns out, engineers and Shrinky Dinks are a pretty perfect combination. Alumni got creative making keychains, bag tags, charms and even a b**r tap topper.

A huge shoutout to Kelsey Zabrusky '09, MS'11 for bringing everyone’s creations to life in the oven! Safe to say, we love an Oredigger craft night.

Yesterday Mines celebrated a new chapter in its partnership with Keysight Technologies with a ribbon cutting for the newly designated Keysight Technologies Electronics Discovery Center in Brown Hall.

Keysight Technologies generously donated advanced electronic equipment to the Mines Electrical Engineering Department, providing students with valuable opportunities to learn and work with the technologies and tools used by engineers in industry. The ribbon-cutting celebration brought together Mines and Keysight representatives, with remarks from Mines Provost Stefanie Tompkins and Peter Aaen, recognizing the importance of industry partnerships in creating meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for Mines students.

The Electronics Discovery Center will give students a dedicated space to explore, experiment and build the technical skills they need to become the engineers and innovators of tomorrow. We’re excited to see all the possibilities that will come to life there.

Meet Allison ’26! After graduating with her B.S. in Civil Engineering, Allison spent the summer interning with Olsson in Denver. Now she's back on campus for one final semester through the BS+MS combined program, pursuing her M.S. in Hydrology. She’s also accepted a full-time position as an Assistant Engineer with Olsson, beginning in January!

During her time at Mines, Allison was involved with ASCE, Sigma Kappa, the Oredigger newspaper, Foundation Dignitaries and Oredigger Camp, while also serving as a grader and teaching assistant. She spent two years as Editor-in-Chief of the Oredigger before passing the role to the next generation of student journalists.

Outside of work and academics, Allison has been spending her summer hiking and camping around Colorado, playing pickleball with fellow CEE alumni and exploring new restaurants in Lakewood. From finding lifelong friends to building a foundation for her career, Allison is grateful for her time at Mines. Once and Oredigger, always an Oredigger!

Have you seen this statue in the Starzer Welcome Center? The Prospector was created by Raymond Kling, and his family was thrilled to recently discover that their grandfather’s work is once again on display at Mines. For many years, the statue was displayed in the lobby of the former Central Bank in downtown Denver before being donated to Mines. A gifted sculptor, woodcarver and painter, Kling was even invited by Disney to move to California and create statues for the opening of Disneyland, but he chose to remain in Colorado, the place he called home.

Now, seeing his Prospector back on display offers his family a special opportunity to celebrate his creativity and share his legacy with the Mines community.
