A couple of weeks ago, Bridget, Emily, and Jordan had the opportunity to serve as additional staff for the C3 Tech Advisors Annual Tech Summit — an energizing day filled with innovation, collaboration, and connections right here in Grand Rapids.

For two days, we loved stepping in to help ensure everything ran smoothly for their attendees, from registration and wayfinding to on-site logistics and guest support.

Event Recap: National Precast Concrete Association Annual Convention

We had the incredible opportunity to serve as the local Grand Rapids DMC for the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) Annual Convention!

This three-day event brought together precast industry leaders for education, networking, and unforgettable experiences — and our team loved bringing it all to life.

A few highlights:
Wednesday: Private dinner at MDRD featuring a live Flamenco dancer!

Thursday: Grand Rapids Museum Walking Tour (thank you, !) + Precast Chairs Dinner at the beautiful Bissell Tree House

Friday: Golf outing at Thornapple Pointe + Fishing charter with (with lunch from )

Saturday: Saugatuck Dune Ride + a Fall Harvest Party at complete with live bands, axe throwing, fall décor, and so much fun

Event Spotlight: fairlife Summer Summit 2025 – “Coops on the Loose”

In July, our team had the incredible opportunity to showcase our full Destination Management Company (DMC) services while partnering with fairlife for their 2025 Summer Summit in Traverse City, Michigan — two back-to-back weekends designed to give every team member a chance to experience the celebration!

Seamless Event Support
From coordinating all weekend transportation to building and assembling 250+ gift bags each weekend, our team handled vendor management, design and décor, activity scheduling, F&B needs, and full off-site dinner management. Every detail was thoughtfully executed to ensure a smooth, memorable experience. Kayleen Van Gelder also managed and designed the registration website, including all 5 off-sign activity registrations, spa appointment assignments, and rooming lists.

Friday: Welcome to Traverse City
The weekend kicked off with a warm and inviting Traverse City Beach–themed welcome reception, complete with live music, a custom hat bar, signature gift bags, and a delicious spread of food. It set the tone for a fun and relaxed weekend ahead.

Saturday: Adventure Awaits
After a tasty breakfast, guests set out on their chosen off-site activities—from the Kayak Bike and Brew Tour, Nauti-Cat Cruise, and Grand Traverse Commons Tour to spa appointments and golf at the resort. That evening, everyone gathered at Jacob’s Farm for a lively dinner featuring yard games, live music, and a creative custom luggage tag–making station. We had at least one of our staff members assigned to each of these activities to assist with F&B, everyone was on time, and they got from point A to point B efficiently!

Final Gather Event - Des Moines, Iowa!

Gather event officially wrapped, and this time we brought the experience to the heart of the Midwest—Des Moines, Iowa! We were thrilled to host our group at the beautiful and historic Hotel Fort Des Moines, a venue that blended timeless charm with modern comforts. It made the perfect backdrop for a few days of connection, collaboration, and fun.

The hotel’s cozy lounges, elegant meeting rooms, and welcoming atmosphere gave our group plenty of space to unwind and engage. From shared meals to meaningful conversations, every moment felt intentional and special.

Jordan and Bridget were the first friendly faces our attendees saw at the Des Moines International Airport, helping everyone navigate their arrivals and transfers with ease. Back at the hotel, Kathy was ready to greet guests at the registration table, making check-in smooth and welcoming. From AV setups to managing BEOs, the team was on top of every detail.

Gather Chicago!

Gather event #8 is a wrap! This time, we brought the experience to the Midwest and hosted our group at the elegant Drake Oak Brook in Chicago. The venue offered timeless charm with modern amenities, making it the perfect setting for our gathering. Guests enjoyed beautiful views, sophisticated meeting spaces, and the serene outdoor terrace for meals and mingling. Jackie, Bridget, and Jessica were onsite to welcome attendees at the airport, coordinate smooth transportation to the hotel, and ensure a seamless check-in process at our registration table. From AV setup to overseeing BEOs, the team made sure every detail was taken care of with care and precision!

Did you know hospitality and event planning are thriving career paths most students have never even heard of?

This Global Meetings Industry Day, we’re celebrating the power of human connection—and the next generation of professionals who will shape our industry.

Last week, the Destination Consultants team joined MiCareerQuest at DeVos Place, an immersive career exploration event hosted by West Michigan Works! For the first time, hospitality had a presence—and we were proud to represent the world of event planning and incentive travel.

Our founder, Amy Young, who serves on the Hospitality Industry Talent Council, is passionate about mentorship and workforce development. At our booth, 8th–10th grade students got a hands-on glimpse into the world of events—folding napkins, asking thoughtful questions, and learning what it means to create unforgettable experiences.

One moment stood out: a young woman arrived dressed professionally—her mom told her first impressions matter. She’s already thinking about her future, and that kind of drive is why we do what we do. 💡

Huge thanks to our intern Emily Walkowski for creating the booth experience, to Jackie Stone for co-hosting, and to Janet Korn, Senior VP of Marketing at Experience GR, for stepping in to support while our team was out running events.

Hospitality is creative, people-focused, and full of purpose—and it’s time more students knew it was an option. 💼💬
