Interested in exploring more of Land Between the Lakes? Come along on one of our Road Less Traveled van tours!

On this 3-hour guided tour, you'll tag along in one of our vans as we drive the backroads, searching for some of Land Between the Lakes' hidden treasures. We’ll explore the “nooks and crannies” of LBL, discovering wildlife hotspots, scenic vistas, and historic jewels tucked away in the landscape.

The cost is $15 per person. Advanced registration and full deposit required. Reserve your spot by calling 270-924-2020.

The tours include some walking and multiple stops where participants will enter and exit the vehicles. Expect to walk a total distance of about 1/4 mile. If you have accessibility questions, please feel free to reach out.

Lake Barkley is a 50,000 acre lake that encompasses land in Livingston, Trigg, and Lyon counties in Kentucky along with Houston and Stewart counties in Tennessee. It is another large man-made lake just to the east of Kentucky Lake. It was created in 1966 with the completion of Barkley Dam, impounding the Cumberland River. This lake is 134 miles long with around 1,004 miles of shoreline. Like Kentucky Lake, the creation of Lake Barkley led to several towns being flooded including Old Kuttawa and Old Eddyville in Kentucky, with the “Old” name referring to the areas of the towns that were left underwater once Barkley Dam was completed. These “Old” areas can be seen when water levels are low. Present day Eddyville and Kuttawa were formed after the creation of the lake. This lake is named after Vice President and US Senator Alben Barkley of Paducah, KY.
