Today we visited Sleeping Giant Provincial Park and did some hiking.

We then went to an amethyst mine and had so much fun learning about its history and then actually mining for some.

We finally made it to Isle Royale National Park. This finishes out the lower 48 and just leaves 4 in Alaska and one in American Samoa! I have a plan for AK but the other is going to take some work!

Day 1 is complete. We drove from Minneapolis/St Paul airport to Grand Portage with several stops to hike and explore along the way.

Fingers crossed that tomorrow Isle Royale happens as planned!

Out of office until Monday with limited access to internet. I may be slower to respond to trip requests!

Heading to Isle Royale National Park.
This is the LAST National Park in the lower 48 that we need to visit! We have tried twice before; one time Covid hit and weather the next.

Hopefully third time is charm!!
