Quick travel tip: if you can be flexible with dates or location, the most economical way to plan a trip is to take advantage of flight deals when they come up THEN figure out the lodging (with my help, of course!). I’ll be posting flight deals as I find them.

When doing a trip to Europe that requires trains once you get there, make sure you really consider departure times. Purchasing tickets in advance means you are stuck to that timetable.
