When it was time to choose a wedding venue, Catriona and her husband-to-be knew they wanted to be married in Maine. “Our first trip away together had been to Portland,” she explains, “so we looked at a lot of places in that area. The second we got to Caswell Farm, it just felt right. It was so cozy and tucked into the woods. In the woods, in the fall, in Maine was exactly what we were searching for. The barn was just rustic enough, but still warm and cozy
-it checked all the boxes.”
Catriona chose her dress partly because she loved the sleeves, and also because it was “clean and modern, but also romantic. I could envision wearing it in the barn. It just seemed to fit the setting.” Her eight bridesmaids were given a color palette of deep forest green, burnt autumn orange, and golden yellow. “Each one picked their own dress. I wanted at least a couple of them in each color,” she says. Her flowers also contained a rich autumn palette of russet, burnt orange, burgundy, and coral, accented by trailing ivy with a loose, organic feel that fit the day.
Dancing in the barn after dinner and seeing the couple’s friends and family around them definitely was a highlight of the celebration, says Catriona.
