Stop waiting for “someday,” because that isn’t a date on the calendar. 🏔️

Alaska feels like the most inaccessible place on Earth... but here’s the truth: It is actually one of the most accessible wilderness destinations in the world. 🏔️⚓
When I plan for my clients, I’m not looking for “rugged.” I’m looking for the seamless path through the wild. I vet every transition—from the ship to the shore to the railcar—because the “wilderness” shouldn’t mean “roadblocks” for your family. I do the mental heavy lifting and map out the logistics so you can just focus on the view. 🦉

There is a science to the "perfect" Alaska excursion—and I learned it the hard way. 🏔️🦉
When I’m planning an Alaska itinerary for my clients, I’m not just looking at what’s available; I’m looking at the details that actually change your experience. Take the White Pass & Yukon Route in Skagway, for example.
Here is how I think through this booking:
1️⃣ I learned the "Early Bird" lesson the hard way. 🌫️
My first time here, I thought being first off the ship was a win. I booked the 8:00 AM train and spent two hours staring at a literal white wall of fog. I missed the peaks, the trestles, and the valley. Let me save you from that! Now, I recommend mid-day slots. Watching the fog burn off to reveal these mountains is the "magic" you’re actually paying for.
2️⃣ Geometry matters more than you think. 🗺️
The "best seat" isn't just about comfort; it's about the view. I always tell my clients: sit on the LEFT side when you're heading up to the Summit. If you're on the right, you're mostly looking at the mountain face. If you're on the left, you're looking down 1,000-foot drops and over bridges like this one. (Reverse that if you're taking the train back down from the Summit!)
3️⃣ Accessibility is a non-negotiable "win." ♿ As a travel advisor specializing in accessible and neurodivergent-friendly travel, I love this excursion because it proves "historic" doesn't have to mean "inaccessible." They have lift-equipped cars and designated spaces, meaning the whole family gets the same "wind in your face" experience on the platforms. It’s one of the few places where everyone gets the same front-row seat to history.
The Difference is in the Details. Alaska is a "once-in-a-lifetime" trip for most—don’t leave your views to chance.

This is your sign to stop “someday-ing” your bucket list. 🏔️✨
There is a specific kind of magic that happens in Vancouver right before an Alaska sailing. Standing here in Stanley Park, watching the ships glide under the Lions Gate Bridge, everything just slows down.
As a Certified Travel Professional, my favorite part of the job isn’t just the logistics or the docking maps—it’s helping you get to moments exactly like this. The ones that don’t fit into a brochure but stay with you forever. 🌅
2026 is moving fast, and these views are waiting for you. Are you ready to finally get this trip out of the “dream” phase and onto the calendar? 🚢

Don’t book an Alaska Cruise based on the brochure alone! 🏔️🛳️
Most people start by looking at the price tag or the buffet, but as a travel pro, I look at the logistics. If you aren’t checking these 3 things, you might spend more time on a shuttle bus than actually seeing a glacier. 🚌💨
Here are my 3 non-negotiables for your 2026 Alaska sailing:
1️⃣ The Docking Location: This is huge. Large ships often have to dock at remote spots like Ward Cove in Ketchikan—that’s a 20-minute shuttle ride just to get into town! I personally choose Holland America or Princess because they get the prime downtown docks. You walk off the ship and you are there. ⚓️
2️⃣ Glacier Bay Access: Not every cruise line has the permit to enter Glacier Bay National Park. It’s the crown jewel of Alaska for a reason! Plus, a pro-tip: Holland America actually has a Glacier Guarantee. If you don’t see a glacier on your trip, they give you credit for a future cruise. ❄️
3️⃣ Port Times: A 4 PM departure is a total dream-killer. I look for itineraries with “Long Days” (staying until 9 or 10 PM). It completely changes the pace of your trip and lets you actually enjoy the local culture without rushing back for dinner. 🦀
I’m currently planning for the 2026 season and dates are filling up fast (especially with the World Cup crowds in Seattle and Vancouver!). ⚽️

The #1 Alaska mistake I see people make... 🏔️🧊
Most travelers think they’ll just “hang out on the top deck” to see the glaciers. Then they realize it’s 45 degrees, windy, and 2,000 other people had the same idea.
The Reality:
❌ Fighting for a 2-inch spot at the railing.
❌ Losing your view the second you go to grab a coffee.
❌ Trying to take photos over someone else’s shoulder.
The Expert Way:
✅ Your own “private front row” seat to Glacier Bay.
✅ A warm room just a glass door away when the glacier breeze hits.
✅ Room service breakfast while whales breach outside your window. 🐋
Insider Tip: If you are booking a one-way Northbound or Southbound sailing, the side of the ship you choose is everything for coastal views.
I know the deck plans inside and out for the 2026 season—let’s make sure you aren’t staring at a lifeboat when the ice starts to crack. 🚢✨

Size doesn’t matter… unless we’re talking about Alaska king crab. 🦀

I was sitting at Tracy’s King Crab Shack in Juneau when a woman literally stopped outside our booth, stared at my crab leg, and said,
“Oh my God. That thing is MASSIVE.”

She asked if she could take a picture of it. Of. My. Crab. Leg.

Honestly? Fair. 😂

Alaska doesn’t do small — not mountains, not glaciers, and definitely not crab legs.

✨ Travel tip from your Alaska-obsessed advisor:
Tracy’s has TWO locations. If the main downtown spot has a long line (it moves fast, but still), there’s a second location right at the cruise pier that’s usually easier to get into when ships first dock.

I plan custom Alaska cruises and land adventures — and yes, I will absolutely tell you where to get the giant crab legs.

So tell me… are you more of a 🦀 crab leg or 🐟 salmon fan?

When they say “maybe Alaska?” and I immediately go into full Detective Mode. 🕵️‍♂️🏔️
Alaska is a bucket-list dream, but the logistics? They’re a cold-case file. Between cruise routes, glacier landings, and wildlife windows, the research can get chaotic.
That’s where I come in. I obsess over the details so you don’t have to. I turn “spreadsheet stress” into a seamless itinerary. 🚢

The world is getting smaller, faster, and more digital—but our kids’ lives shouldn't feel like a series of "scrolls." 📱❌

Lately, I’ve realized that travel isn’t just about the stamps in a passport. It’s about the "unplugged" moments that an algorithm simply can’t replicate.
It’s that electric, whispered "Look!" when a black bear wanders past the cabin window in Gatlinburg. In that split second, the phone screens lose their pull. The YouTube loops and the notifications vanish, replaced by wide eyes and bated breath. 🐻✨

In a world that’s increasingly impersonal, travel is our family’s "reset" button. It’s where my kids learn:
• Real-World Wonder: Because seeing a bear in the wild is a thousand times more powerful than Googling one. 🏔️
• Patience: Because you can’t "refresh" the mountains or force the mist to clear; you just have to be still and wait for the magic to happen.
• Presence: Because the most important connection isn't the Wi-Fi signal—it’s the one sitting right next to us on the porch.

We don’t travel to escape life; we travel so that life—real, raw, unfiltered life—doesn't escape us. We’re trading "likes" for looks of wonder and notifications for real-time conversations.
It’s not always "Instagram-perfect" behind the scenes, but it’s the most honest way I know to show them they belong to a big, beautiful, physical world. 🌲🙌

When was the last time your family was so captivated by something in nature that you completely forgot your phones existed? Tell me about that moment below. 👇

If you’ve ever spent hours googling “is there a ramp?” or “will my chair fit in the bathroom?”, you need to watch this. Most people don’t realize that modern cruise ships aren’t just boats—they are floating, fully accessible cities designed to bring the world to YOU.
Why it’s a game-changer:
📍 Unpack Once: Visit multiple countries without the stress of changing hotels.
♿ Total Mobility: From automatic cabin doors to zero-entry showers and pool lifts.
🎭 VIP Status: Dedicated theater seating with the best views and accessible gaming tables.
🛡️ Peace of Mind: Onboard medical centers and sensory-friendly zones (KultureCity certified!).
The best part? You don’t have to navigate the logistics alone. Working with a travel advisor who specializes in accessible travel means your specific needs are matched with the right ship, every time. No guesswork, just vacation. 🥂
