Knowcals love dogs... and all animals really.

Back in 2023, we adopted May, the official doggie greeter at Bison + beargrass from the Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center and we love her so much. She's in the photos below.

This year, at the 2026 Furball fundraiser (which benefits the Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center), Knowcals is sponsoring the "photo with a pet" room. John, from Really Montana Photography will be there, along with May, and many adoptable, soft, furry pets.

If you love animals and want to help fund a GREAT cause in Great Falls, please attend the Furball. If you're attending, please stop by the photo room and get a fun photo taken with a cat who may or may not want to be held in that moment or May or an adoptable dog that's going to melt your heart.

Montana's tribal communities sit on the edge of some of the most spectacular country in North America. The east side of Glacier. The Bears Paw. The land around Rocky Boy and Browning that most visitors drive past on their way somewhere else.

That's the complicated part — millions of people pass through, and most of the economic benefit doesn't stay.

I've been to pow wows, recreated on tribal lands, and worked on media that tried to tell these stories right. The history is complicated and real and we don't pretend otherwise.

But I'm hopeful about what's possible when the people who actually know this country are the ones sharing it.

Hutterite colony tours. Amish horse-drawn carriage rides. Honestly — doesn't that sound fun?

Now we just have to convince them to get on the internet long enough to list it.

We're a Montana adventure platform, but we're also just people who camp — and good tips don't stop at the state line.

If you're passing through the Badlands, we've got a great campground recommendation.

Buffalo Gap National Grasslands sits just a few miles from Wall Drug (with their 5¢ coffee) and the Badlands National Park entrance — and it's completely free, dispersed camping on wide open grassland.

Great Falls is one the western art capitals of the world!

(Jackson Hole, WY and Calgary, AB are a couple others but don't tell them we said that.)

For more than 50 years, The C.M. Russell Museum and Western Art Week have been hosting an amazing event each spring (and a little extra peppered throughout the year).

Art lovers from all over the world come to Great Falls to meet artists, buy western art, and have a good ole' time!

Elisha has been fortunate to be one of the official photographers for the festivities for years now and this is one of our favorite shoots of the year.

If you've never been to Western Art Week, come, see all the cool art, visit the Museum, book an adventure from a local on Knowcals, and learn a thing or two about Montana's heritage.

This is a wild place and you'll have a rockin' good time!
