Our Denali portion of our Alaska mainland tour was a grand success with all the boreal specialties and many mammals, including 3 brown bears, tons of Dall Sheep, countless caribou, porcupines, and more. We also saw Denali from all angles during two clear days! At the forefront of the birds were Northern Hawk-Owl and Spruce Grouse, but we also found Bohemian Waxwings and White-winged Crossbills and so much more. Our Gambell, Alaska group had a wonderful morning at the sea watch with Dovekies early on, then four species of loons, and eventually we saw all four species of eiders, add to that jaegers, geese, and thousands of other alcids. Great start to our visit to this remote outpost.

Our Alaska Adak Island tour was exceptional this year in many respects, with a large number of Eurasian migratory bird species for our group to enjoy. Time flew by as we scoured the island for three and a half days, finding the following highlights. We also managed to run two great plegcis that found hundreds of Whiskered Auklets.

Tundra Bean-Goose, Garganey, Falcated Duck, Eurasian Wigeon, Tufted Duck, Eurasian Whimbrel (3), Common Snipe, Terek Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper (up to 50), Common Greenshank (2), Ruff, Temminck's Stint, Red-necked Stint (up to 22), Black-headed Gull (2), Common Tern, Great Egret, Eurasian Sparrowhawk, Fieldfare!!!, Siberian Pipit, Brambling (many), Hawfinch (many)
