Big Cypress Tree State Park is named for the national champion bald cypress tree that once lived in the park.The park is a quaint, clean and relaxing spot to enjoy nature’s purity and beauty. and closes at sunset during summer months; during winter months the park closes at 4:30 p.m. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.

Come out and participate in our Jr. Ranger Program! Our program is a little different than most traditional day camps at other parks. Our program will offer a couple of Jr. Ranger themed programs every weekend from the beginning of June through the end of July, giving you the freedom to participate at your own pace and work around your schedule.

Jr Ranger programs will focus on four main themes: wildlife, plants, water, and safety. All kids that attend one of each topic will be given a certificate and a Jr. Ranger badge!

All programs will last approximately 1 hour and will be posted every week on our page and on our website. The programs related to this program will be marked by *asterisks* on the posted schedules. If you have any questions, please reach out!

Have you seen the new Storybook Trail at Big Cypress Tree State Park? We recently had a Storybook Trail installed along our Paved Trail starting next to the restrooms behind the picnic pavilion! Follow the signs for a short story with interactive tips at the bottom of each panel to help bring the story to life. Come check it out!
