"First time on ! A bit of a shakedown/smackdown hike to remember how to pack for wintery conditions. Today I learned that it is not enough to pack microspikes for myself; it is important to double-check and make sure hiking companion also packs them. We did indeed need traction once we hit the spruce-fir forest (love those switchbacks, I can’t imagine what the trail what like before), and I ended up giving mine to said companion. I have heard and believe this trail is a green tunnel in the summer; happy I hiked it with no leaves on the trees and had more of a view of ! Very quiet and remote area, only saw one other hiker. Such a gorgeous day to be out and about, another one checked off the Delorme list, 11 more to go!"

Number Four Mountain is a fun one with a fire tower at the top. There was sleet up there when we hiked it, too! My favorite part was relaxing in the sun on this bench with Wander, just past the fire tower. Definitely a must see if you hike this one!"- 📷 Alison Kieffer
