What is the mission of the church?
CoRE 2025 starts tomorrow!
In the Great Commission, Jesus told his disciples, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” On the basis of that supreme authority, He then commanded the disciples, and the Church, to “make disciples of all nations, … teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:18-20).
So what all has Jesus commanded? About what can the Church speak with authority? The Gospel? Missions? Family roles? Counseling? Government? Education? Crisis? Life? Science? Creation order, culture and worldview?
Not only can the Church speak authoritatively on these subjects, she should. But amidst the clamoring voices of relativism and unsound doctrine, the Church has often lost her voice. Join us at BJU Seminary for our 2025 CoRE Conference, “Has the Church Lost Her Voice? Recovering the Authority of the Church,” to connect with others, renew your thinking and equip yourself to speak authoritatively as Jesus has commanded — to effectively make disciples and thereby carry out the Great Commission.
In this week’s episode, Dr. Scott reminds us of the importance of having the right priorities with the story of Mary and Martha.
Have you ever felt like this? Does it ever feel like ministry has worn you down?

Now, more than ever, we need to re-establish the source of our authority — God’s Word. Our goal in the 2025 CoRE conference is to refocus on what the conference was designed to accomplish: to Connect, to Renew, and to Equip. We want to connect attendees with our faculty, guest speakers, and fellow believers in times of prayer, praise through song, fellowship, and mutual edification founded in God’s Word. We hope it provides a time of renewal — personal renewal in our spirits and professional renewal as we, together, recommit ourselves and our ministries to the authority of God’s Word. Finally, we hope you go away equipped to encounter the voices in our culture that are not aligned with the one sure Voice — God’s inerrant, sufficient, and authoritative Word.
