People are often surprised by how much life there is in the desert if you slow down enough to look. It isn’t easy out there, but these hardy plants and animals have so many fascinating adaptations to help them survive. Did you know that a desert tortoise can store water in its bladder, allowing them to survive for more than a year without drinking fresh water? That is why our mission to foster environmental stewardship, teach responsible recreation, and provide opportunity for personal growth through the facilitation of impactful wilderness experiences is more important than ever. We don’t just lead fun backpacking trips; we educate about the environment we’re in, share our passion for playing in it, and also protect it. Our planet depends on it.

Although bears may be friend-shaped, we need to keep our distance. More and more bears are making their presence known recently, so let’s all be bear aware by driving slowly on the roads, keeping your distance if you see a bear in the wild, and protecting human food from animal consumption. 🐻

When people think of our Summer Camp backpacking program in Olympic, they picture dark forests, endless fog, and serious Twilight vibes. 🌲🌫️🧛
The reality? Less vampire drama, more campfires, trail miles, new friendships, and unforgettable adventures.
