Jimmy Buffett’s legacy comes full circle as the City of Mobile prepares to honor him with a waterfront statue by nationally renowned sculptor Ben Victor.

As part of the creative process, Victor has crafted a detailed wax sandal model that will help bring Buffett’s iconic laid-back style to life in bronze. Every element, down to the footwear, is carefully shaped by hand before the final sculpture is cast.

Such a cool place to visit while you are staying at A View With A Room! Only 8 miles west of us and such a beautiful drive to the Fort Morgan State Historic Site. You can also catch a meal at Tacky Jack's Gulf Shores or Sassy Bass Amazin' Grill or a ferry ride over to Dauphin Island on the Mobile Bay Ferry ~ all right there!💙🌴🛥️

🐢 Share the beach with sea turtles.

From May 1 through October 31, endangered sea turtles like loggerhead, green, and Kemp’s Ridley use Alabama’s Beaches as nesting grounds. Volunteers patrol the shoreline to protect nests and help hatchlings reach the Gulf.

If you see a nesting turtle:
➡️ Stay at least 30 feet away
➡️ Stay low and quiet
➡️ Do not shine lights toward the turtle

These amazing creatures return to the same beaches where they were born, let’s help keep their home safe. 🩵
