The Fort Morgan Fishing Pier is open!

The Fort Morgan Fishing Pier, located at the Fort Morgan Historic Site, will open to the public at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday October 15, 2022. Please be aware of the following pier rules.
1. No alcohol, loud radios or open flames.
2. No fishing on boat basin side of pier.
3. No feeding birds or wildlife.
4. No use of balloon fishing rigs.
5. No camping on the pier.
6. No discarding of fish carcasses into the water.
7. No ATVs, UTVs golf carts or other motorized devices except for those required for persons with disabilities.
8. Only two (2) rods per person may be fished at a time and rods must be attended.
9. Only one (1) crab ring per person and ring must be attended. Crab or bait traps are prohibited.
10. All litter and debris must be placed in trash receptacles.
11. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
12. Only ADA approved service animals allowed on the pier.
13. All coolers and containers are subject to search.
14. Bait may only be cut on designated boards and on top of trash receptacles.
15. Alabama saltwater fishing license and angler registry are required.

Today this air parade put on by the Navy Blue Angels went right over all three of our Fort Morgan vacation rentals! They are getting new planes so this was the last ride in the old Hornets. They also have a new "Fat Albert" cargo companion plane. Wow!!! (photo courtesy of Dan Dunn)

This will be a historic and spectacular event, and will literally go over right over all three of our houses!

On Wednesday, November 4th at 4:00 pm, the Blue Angels will be doing a Historic Beach Buzz. (Weather permitting)

This will be the final flight of the old Blue Angels' Hornets, accompanied by their new Super Hornets and a new Fat Albert, a C-130.

Well, the eye of Hurricane Sally went over all three of our Fort Morgan Vacation Rental houses. We got a direct hit and there is much devastation and damage down here. We were very blessed to suffer only minor damage to all three houses! While they are intact, there is some contractor work that must be done before we put them back on-line. The road has just recently opened, and it will be days until we get power. No homes may be rented for the next 10 days by law. Our hopes are that we can begin renting them again by mid October. Please keep an eye on our availability calendars that you can access for each house from our website www.fmvr.biz Thank you and we will be back soon!

Please take heed! Very dangerous surf conditions.

The City of Gulf Shores has posted double red flags on all beaches within the corporate limits of Gulf Shores due to extreme surf conditions and the presence of deadly rip currents. All waters are CLOSED to the public. Anyone voluntarily entering the water is subject to arrest when double red flags are posted.

Residents and visitors should monitor the surf flag warning system closely. For current surf conditions, visit www.gulfshoresal.gov or call 251-968-TIDE.
