- Storm readiness
- Check for post-storm structural damage
- Check plumbing for leaks under all sinks, toilets and the hot water heater
- Check refrigerator and freezer temperature
- Remove newspapers, advertising
- Bring in mail, trash cans
- Sweep around front entrance
- Check lights inside and out, replace bulbs if necessary
- Alarm system check
- Make sure all doors and windows are locked
- Heat and AC temperature settings
- Heat and AC filter replacement
- Run garbage disposals to lubricate seals
- Check for pests and mold
