Christmas is just around the corner, and the City of Gulf Shores is once again gearing up to celebrate with a full array of holiday events. Whether itโs patiently awaiting Santa to ride past your street during Santaโs Ride through the City, or listening to Christmas classics at the Baldwin Pops Christmas Concert, families of all ages are invited to join in the excitement of the season.

Weโre kicking off our Christmas festivities with a celebration at Johnnie Sims Park. Families can enjoy pictures with Santa, holiday treats, crafts, and the 6th Annual Snowball Drop. The Snowball Drop is a man-made blizzard featuring 4,000 ping pong balls dropped from above by Santa. Winning snowballs will have a number that correlates with a prize supplied by our generous sponsors.

Santa is taking some time off during his busy month to drive through the City of Gulf Shores and wave to our residents. He will be accompanied by some of his dear friends from the North Pole and the Gulf Shores High School Steel Drum Band. Santa will drive through our city on both December 4 and 11 to make sure he can see as many children as possible. Route information and a live Santa Tracker will be available on the Cityโs website during the event.

On Tuesday, December 7, the City of Gulf Shores will open its doors to host the Baldwin Pops band for a Christmas Concert at the Cultural Center Auditorium. The Baldwin Pops is an organization of volunteer musicians whose mission is to share music in a concert band format free of charge to the citizens of Baldwin County.
This event will not require a ticket. Seats are first come, first serve. Baldwin Pops Concerts are a collection site for the US Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots program. Patrons are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift.

As part of our Movies at Meyer Park series, we will be showing The Grinch (Illumination Version) on Thursday, December 16. We encourage locals and visitors to bring a blanket, lawn chair, friends, and family, and join us for a free Christmas movie under the stars! Battered by the Bay Food Truck will be onsite for those wanting to purchase food, and Coastal Alabama Business Chamber will be set up selling beverages for all ages to enjoy.

Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa on Saturday, December 18, as the City of Gulf Shores hosts Breakfast with Santa at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center. Beginning at 8 a.m., families can dive into a wholesome breakfast complete with sausage, bacon, eggs, and pancakes. Admission for Breakfast with Santa is $5.00, while children 3 and under are free. The first 50 children will receive a complimentary picture with Santa.
In addition to these larger community events, several other City of Gulf Shores departments will be hosting holiday events residents are encouraged to participate in.
