This could have been a tragedy. You can see by the tracks that the female loggerhead (weighing around 200-300 lbs) had to maneuver between items left on the beach, which made her trip twice as hard. We met with USFWS last week and if the turtle had gotten tangled up in this chair or tents or sand fences left overnight, they said that the owners of the items, will be held responsible and will be prosecuted. So, if you can't do the right thing for turtles and the environment, just do it so you won't be charged with a federal offense. Please.

Beautiful morning for a turtle nest except someone left their stuff on the beach. After she climbed a big hill she went over an umbrella and around a chair but she did nest. Sure wish folks would take their stuff in. I know I will get negative replys but it would make her life easier with a clean beach.
