Proposal A is $20 less per night than Proposal B.
Easy decision, right?

Not so fast. 😉

Because I’m not just comparing two numbers on a proposal.
I’m looking at the destination wedding room block terms hiding behind those numbers.
→ How many rooms are you committing to?
→ What deposit is required?
→ When can we reduce rooms?
→ What happens if fewer guests book than expected?
→ Are there attrition requirements?
→ What group benefits are included?
→ And what does your group actually have to do to EARN those benefits?

Suddenly, that $20 difference doesn’t tell us nearly enough.

Because the lowest destination wedding room rate isn’t automatically the best deal for your wedding group.

A slightly higher rate with more favorable room block terms, flexibility and group benefits may make far more sense for your specific wedding.

And THIS is where strategy matters. 🌴💍

And before you think I’m about to tell you to spend MORE on your honeymoon…
I’m not. 😉

Because the most expensive Sandals isn’t automatically the best honeymoon either.

Here’s what couples sometimes miss when comparing Sandals resorts:
Price only tells you what the honeymoon costs.
It doesn’t tell you what kind of honeymoon you’re actually getting.
🏖️ What’s the beach like?
🍹 Is the resort quiet and romantic or lively and social?
🤿 Does it have the activities you actually want?
🍽️ What about restaurants and dining options?
🌴 Does the overall experience match how YOU like to vacation?

Because two Sandals resorts can have very different price tags…
But they can also deliver very different honeymoon experiences.

If your dream is an incredible beach and seven days of doing approximately NOTHING, you probably shouldn’t choose your resort the same way as the couple who wants scuba diving, watersports, pickleball and an activity every day. 😂

That’s why I don’t recommend starting with:

“𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝?”

Start with:

“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞?”

THEN look at your budget and figure out which resorts give you the things you care about most.
Because the goal isn’t to book the cheapest Sandals.

And it isn’t to book the most expensive.

It’s to spend your honeymoon budget on the experience YOU actually want. ❤️

Finding the resort and signing the room block contract?

That’s not the finish line.

That’s where the real destination wedding room block management starts. 😅

Because once that contract is signed, there are a LOT of moving pieces happening behind the scenes:

✔️ Contract deadlines

✔️ Room inventory

✔️ Guest booking progress

✔️ Payment deadlines

✔️ Final balances

✔️ Dates for reducing or releasing rooms

✔️ And yes… the guests who still haven’t booked 👀

Because every destination wedding group seems to have that one person who waits until the VERY last minute.

Suspiciously often, it’s the best man. 😂

And this is exactly why my couples don’t just hire me to help them find a destination wedding resort.

I help manage what happens after the resort is booked, too.

Because you shouldn’t be spending the months before your wedding chasing guests, checking room inventory, or wondering if you missed an important destination wedding room block deadline.
